Hanayome Part 2 is a sequel to the first game called
Hanayome the Bridges released by Yunyun. Thanks to the
local community member Shade, it was translated into
english for our enjoyment. Upon playing Hanayome I
very much enjoyed it but it wasn't till the end of the
normal storyline did I discover there was a bonus to
the game. Apparently in a moment of inspiration and
likely thrown in for the fans of his previous games
it seemed Yun decided to add a new more TG related
and a bit more ecchi chapter to the end of the game.
This bonus to the game instantly caught my attention
but I was let down by how well it started only to have
it fall off and end quickly, much to what Yunyun himself
admitted that it was only added due to not knowing what
else to do. However I was instantly inspired by this
the ideas that Yunyun had started grew into ideas of
how much more could be done based on those principles.
So now we have Hanayome "The Brides" Part 2, my own
new storyline that takes the place of what was the bonus
section in the previous game. This new game follows
some of what Yunyun did before but has been greatly
expanded and alteratios have been made to fit it all
together but while a brand new game this is very much
a tie in to the previous game.
With that said I must ask that before playing this
game it is very much advised to play the original
to understand the story, the characters and their
relations. You can also play the original bonus section
of the previous game but it isn't necessary since this
game takes it's place but you can do so if you want
to see what inspired this game.
The plot of Hanayome revolves around a small village on a
remote island that is having a bit of a population problem.
Very few girls, in fact almost none, have been born there
recently, and of those who did most have left to go live in
the Imperial City. As a result, the Mayor is debating
telling the whole village it is time to relocate to a more
stable neighboring village to be able to preserve their
lines. Our hero, who was born in this village and has spent
his entire life there, refuses to give up on it so easily
and so he sets out (along with his new wife) to find a way
to bring young women into the village so that it may
continue to thrive for years to come. This was the story of
part 1 of Hanayome.
Part 2 begins shortly after the conlusion of the first
part. Everyone is now back home with their new brides.
However if you ask around you will find out that there is
yet another adventure open to our heros, perhaps at last
the the reason for the village's lack of girls will be
I had fun playing this, it's cool how you built on the extra bits from the first game to make it a stand alone squeal, and most of all it's finished! That's a rare thing to be on this site.
I'd recommend anyone who's into mtf to try it. The combat isn't too hard and the writing is pretty good even if it's less notiable past the later part of the game.
I know it's been years and years but after just finishing it I kinda wish there was a continuation.
For the (small) part i've played, looks promising.
@Daishi: Took me a while too, here it is:
part 1: "A Search for Brides [Hanayome]" and part 2: "Hanayome, Part 2 [The Brides, Part 2]" (on the above link).
Perhaps usefull to "future ppl" wanting to play this game:
If it gives an error on launch: Install "RPGMaker VX RTP" (you can get it at: www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages).
A link to the original game would be nice.
