A Son and Heir

The 'game' is a Lifesim cum VN with CYOA sub stories, where the main story or plot is advanced by going to work. Set in the near future, the main themes are voyeurism, feminisation (not sissification), M2F transformation, sex (MM and MF), pregnancy, lactation and childcare.

Just to be crystal clear, if you're not a fan of Lifesims and don't like babies, then don't bother with this game.

Please report any bugs, typos or spelling mistakes, preferably by PM.

You are a privileged young person. You always were, and maybe you always will be. But the universe is no respecter of privilege, as you discovered when your family was killed in a car crash. Most of all you miss you big sister, she was your muse throughout your childhood, your gold standard.

Just recently you’re aloof and reclusive Grandfather also discovered what lies beyond the veil, leaving you, as his last direct descendant, in line to inherit his company. While you wait for someone to appear and hand it you, on a plate so to speak, you continue with your, to be frank, rather pleasant life.

To advance the main storyline, go to work and complete the tasks that your boss gives you. To form your character, do things that appeal to you in ways that please you. Player stats are mainly for immersion, but do come into play here and there. The back button is available, but restricted to cut down game lag. Also many pages are 'multi-pages' so you may find yourself further back in the story than you intended.

There is quite a lot to do outside of work for the evenings, weekends, and leave days. These 'activities' are often of a sexual nature and can be quite character forming! Use your bank card where possible but keep some cash handy, and don't blow your stash all at once as you don't get paid again until the end of the month. Final tip, don't stay up all night as this can mess things up. If it's gone midnight you should be in bed asleep.

V0.14a (20/11/2024)

Bug Fix - Spellcheck turned 'isnot' to 'is not' :(

V0.14 (19/11/2024)

So I'm superstitious! Book/Magazine issues fixed. Skip added to some timed passages. Nursery exit after 5 baby days if Chris's tie not used. Blink speed decreased. Spelling and grammer improved.

V0.12 (29/10/2024)

Bug Fixes, added sound mute, added long dream skip, added subsequent Nursery baby days skip, tweaked guitar learning.

I have played the version 0.11 to the end, so this review is for that.

The good:
I love this game. It tickles my favorite themes that is male to female and pregnancy.
The scenes are pretty hot and there *seem to be a lot potential for customisation and making babies :)
Though I wonder how to make many babies (at least 4) through game time will be implemented? Curious.
The images, videos, atmosphere and music is very well chosen.

The bad:
In the current state the game needs a lot to be done, there are bugs and a lot unfinished things that could be used in the future:
- there are stats with unknown meaning
- books and magazines with unknown meaning, some not completed and when you click outside magazine the game bugs it when you try opening next time - a lot red errors
- there are shops that supposedly could be used in future, but right now buying anything is useless except few story things
- there are NPCs with some interesting story that hopefully will be usable in the future, but right now are useless at current game end (hopefully there will be a lot of possible partners in the future)
- there is some interesting guitar learning thing, but does it change anything in the game? Right now it seems like waste of time, buyt maybe in the future it will have some impact on the game like the other stats?

Summary:
There are flaws, but potential is GREAT and I keep thumbs up for this game to be completed some day! Definitely one of my favs!

Yeah, so after having played it, I'm a bit on the fence with this game. In lieu of posting a full-on written review for others to.... enjoy, I'll just post my thoughts over here. Bear in mind these are my opinions of the game, and they're of what's presented right now, without assuming future updates (so pretending that what's being shown here is "complete"). I didn't explore all the content on offer, but I did my best to get a general idea of things. Looking at the image files, there's a bit I missed, but I'm not entirely sure if it's present in the game and I missed it, or they're just for future versions.
I'm just gonna list off bulletpoints of some hangups I have with the game. It mainly boils down to the fact that the game seems to cram in a truckload of inconsequential things that seem fully implemented, but don't actually do anything worthwhile. There's a lot of "fat" that needs to be trimmed.

  • There's a lot to do, but not an actual lot to do.
    • I appreciate the work that goes into having a bunch of things like movies and sites and whatnot, but some of it I really don't feel like they add anything meaningful to the game. Especially when you're forced to wait through them.
    • There's a ton of destinations and stores, but nothing essential to the game
    • A bunch of NPCs that have no real bearing on anything
    • Personal opinion, but I don't think the game needs 50 different books/Magazines with individual chapters.
    • There's also no gameplay incentive at all to engage with any of these features aside from curiosity. I'm not saying that EVERY thing in a game has to advance the plot in some fashion or expand the narrative, but if there's something in a game designed to waste time, a player would probably feel like they'd be better off wasting that time somewhere else.
  • There's an assload of forced waiting, that artificially inflates the play time.
    • Click on the wrong passage link, and you may be forced to wait 300 seconds. Play the game normally, and you'll have to sit through 4 second waits for links to pop up almost a dozen times per game day. Doesn't seem like much, but it adds up.
    • There's also a forced dream sequence that takes like 5 mins of sitting there till the link to continue pops up.
    • I got so fed up with it, I ended up manually editing the game's HTML to remove them. I'm not an impatient child that constantly needs his tik-tok dopamine fix, but there's a point where it just comes off as wasting someone's time, rather than respecting it. I think a setting option that turns off these timed sequences would be appreciated.
  • There's a bunch of stats and life-sim elements, that also don't seem like they do anything. Though that's also by the dev's own admission. Would be nice if they did.
    • There's 3 main fem stats, but they seem to have little impact on the game or the character's mental state. There's a blurb at the start of the game that says your choices are your own, and that options won't be locked off or something similar to that, "The stats do not limit your character's actions, but they do have an effect upon his options." but I hadn't really noticed any instances where a different level of stats had an impact on what choices were available. Whether they were maxed out or not.
    • I appreciate the developers intentions to not limit player choice, but some gameplay impacts with those stats in mind would go a long way. If not tailoring the player's options to change the opinions available for a reaction, maybe some little blurbs here and there about their mental state changing. Like if the MC watched an action movie, make a comment about how the MC never really paid attention to the hero's physique much before, but now he finds it attractive or something. Maybe something like that was present in the game already, but I tried the movie feature once and then never again.
    • There's a few stats that don't really make any sense and aren't explained. Niceness? Does that mean presentability, or the MC's actual ability to be nice to people? Egotism? Sense of self? I really don't know. Nor do I really know how these change or impact the game (if at all).
    • This is more life-simmy, but if you go to the pharmacy, there's like 50 different brands of tampons and pads and whatnot. I feel like I get the intention behind it (woaaaah, look at all this choice, what do I pick? Man it must be difficult to be a woman), but aside from just mentioning it in text form, I don't think having a giant list of actual, purchasable items adds much in the grand scheme of things. A lot of the stores in game are like this. Tons of items that don't really seem to need to be there.
  • The main story itself feels a lot like it railroads you, and ultimately arrives at a point where it feels like the entire game was a waste of time and your choices (what little you had) didn't matter.
    • I'm not entirely sure how much of a spoiler this is, considering the game is tagged M2F and other reviewers have mentioned it, but the game eventually reaches a state where you're taken to a facility (doesn't seem to be an evil one), and the MC is "voluntarily" TF'ed. There's no real way to influence this, and what you've done before has no bearing on this at all (there's physical TFs before this point, and all of those are undone and essentially reset). Feels a bit like Mass Effect 3's ending colors, only you get one and don't get to choose.
    • To be fair though, the entire game up till this point seems like a really, really long Act 1, with the proper game being after the TF. You just don't get to play that part.
  • Tonally, the game is a bit weird. At least to me, anyway. The preg content and such isn't so much fetishistic, but it really is how the dev mentions, "omg, babies are sooooo cute, I wish I had one. Don't you just love babies? Changing diapers, feeding them, burping them". Sorry, but in my case, nah. Not so much.
    • It also comes off a bit... I don't know... Like it's rated as a XXX game, and with that I assume porn, so I have my dick out ready to go, since there were some sex scenes and some light TF involved and I'm all about that, and then I'm playing a bit in a nursery and there's baby care involved. Needless to say, that's a bit of a weird feeling. I shouldn't need to say this, and it's on me, but I don't want my dick in hand lookin at babies. But right as I'm puttin the snake back in it's hole, I get a sex scene. I just don't want babies anywhere near my porn. I don't think that's too much of a strange request.
    • Speaking of porn, there's really not much of it to be had for a XXX game. Like the game has porn the MC can watch, but the MC only fucks/recieves like 3 times (in the main story), and those are waaay spaced out. From a second look, there's a few more instances, but they're only when you go out to locations that are usually locked unless you take the day off (or on the weekend I suppose).
    • I'll admit, a lot of this one is on me and projecting my own expectation of what the game would be like, so maybe I shouldn't have been raring to go, but it is what it is. Maybe a rating like X would be more appropriate, as the porn here isn't the main draw.
  • There's a few other things that I have problems with, but I can't really think of a way to explain them. It's mostly feel and writing, but there's some tedium mixed in there as well (a lot of clicking to do things, needing the work pass except for the fact you don't need it, constant personal "maintenence" like hair brushing etc).

Alright, enough of that. Here's some good things about the game.

  • There's a lot of thought put into the presentation of the game. Most images and videos attempt (as best they can) to be presented in a first-person context. You see your MC through the mirror (complete with dynamic paperdoll in scenes), sex is shown from first person (for the most part), and showering and jerking it even have their own first person paperdoll. I really appreciate the attention to detail.
  • Speaking of detail, while I'm not a fan of how verbose and varied a lot of the inconsequential things are in the game, they are in fact, verbose and varied. A lot of time and passion clearly went into these elements of the game, and while they don't exactly "do it" for me (or do anything in general), I do appreciate the effort that went into them.
  • Real time texting. It's a small thing, but kinda neat. Text messages (what few there are), don't arrive when you change passages like you'd assume, but they can arrive some time into the passage you're currently on. It's a small thing (I'm assuming it's just on a random timer when you change passages, and the message shows up when it's done), but it does add a bit of a small, but novel "off the rails" loosey-goosey feel to the otherwise rigid structure that Twine games present.
  • A few other things, that again, I can't think of off the top of my head.

Yeah, all in all. I don't think it's a bad game, but right this moment, I don't think it's for me. Both "for me" as in it's not written with my tastes in mind (which is fine, not every game has to be), and not "for me" because I'm personally just not into it. It's clear that a lot of time, effort and passion was poured into this, and there only seems to be room to grow. It definitely feels like an Act 1 for a much larger game, and the main takeaway I'd like the dev to consider, is to think about what aspects of the game are essential, and what aspects they could leave on the cutting room floor. If they're not willing to trim those aspects, integrating them into the gameplay loop in a meaningful way would be a big improvement. As it is right now, the game is a bit too wide, but not really all that deep.

That being said, I've played much worse first entries, and I wish the dev the best and look forward to checking in on this in the future to see how it improves.

So much for writing a short and quick bulleted list 😅

Very promising so far and fairly stable, I hope this keeps being developed :)

For a TF themed game, there is a whole lot of things to like about this game and just as much potential. I especially love that this author also clearly has a preggo kink just like I do. He also promotes many of my favorite games within the MC's pc which is a pretty fun little easter egg.

I will say though, that the game still needs quite a been of fine tuning and adjustments. It's missing quite a lot of content and links, but that's expected for a 0.1x version.

My biggest complaints about the current version of the game is the amount of grind is more than I prefer, and the lack of direction/guidance to progress the game and story, which only adds to the grind.

Outside of that, the game is off to a great start, and I definately look forward to seeing how this game progresses and develops.
