Anax's games in general are weird.   All the action is set on what must be the most cursed world in the Multiverse, I mean they have to deal with alien invasions, demons, AI takeovers, supervillians, etc.  all pretty much at the same time.   It's a wonder mankind made it this far!   The games themselves are heavy on sex and mind-control, but with a body-horror bent that is quite different than anything else.   This one is a rogue AI turning everyone into robots, it features (mostly) 3D modeled characters and isn't nearly as squicky as the other Anax games I've played.   The story is very well-written with a few twists and the scenes themselves are pretty hot.

As a game, though?   There are three parts.   In the first part, gameplay is like this:  Choose A or B.   If (A) then BADEND, YOU FAIL!,    If(B) then get a similar choice after more pages.   In these sorts of games, I wind up trying all the options to see all the endings (as the bad endings are generally fun in themselves), for this game it didn't take long.   In the second part, there is a combat mechanic introduced.  This is pointless.  There are basically 3 options.  Surrender - instant GAMEOVER screen, admittedly with lots of variation.   Defend - you didn't do any damage, so you didn't gain anything   Attack - sometimes with a choice of weapon.   In no case should you ever pick anything but attack, the only choice is whether to use a limited bullet supply and even that gets removed halfway through.  The end result is having to go through a long slog of different attackers, which all play out the same way.   Their attacks are so weak that I really can't imagine you would have any difficultly so this section seems like pointless filler.   Then we get back to storyland and see how it works out in the end.   The thrid part had no branches, other than the option to skip a scene.

Go in with the expectation of a visual novel more than a game and you'll have a lot of fun with it.   Assuming you like sex robots.

I remember playing this ages ago when only the incomplete first chapters of each character were ready. Now I finally played the complete game, and it's a beautiful thing. Anaximanes's games are unbeatable in production values and storytelling depth, it's a true multimedia experience. The only problem I see is that sometimes the squick factor overcomes the sexy factor (like in Slugs and Bugs and a few other games), fortunately, this isn't a problem here. It also helps that I have a huge sexbot fetish. :)

It's also true that the fact his games must fit in a grand chronology with his other games causes them to sort of railroad the player into a canonical ending. All other choices are just "bad endings". But I don't really mind this, as I see his games more like immersive stories.

In Cereborg, my favorite chapters are Chieko's and Emily's by far. Howard's are a little bland, but the awesomeness of the other two protagonists more than compensates for it.

All in all, a great story, particularly for fans of robotization and/or Asian protagonists.

I am a big fan of Anaximanes games, corruption themes really turn me on. Also I like how he brings in some characters from his other works into another story.

I enjoyed Slugs & Bugs, and this theme is much more to my liking. There are also some references to Slugs & Bugs, which is cute and interesting. It never gets obnoxious, it's very well done. Sadly, there is a total of two choices in three paths at the moment, neither of which is consequential. Hope that's going to be expanded on in the future. Other than that, the photoshopped images really enhance the story and often look really high quality. A good selection of pictures for sure. Bonus points for having a major female Asian character, negative points for making it Marica Hase :3 Hottest path for me was Emily's so far, although the term "USB port" sounds kind of silly. I'd drop the "USB". Thanks a lot for making this!

EDIT: I recall it being said on the hypnopics thread that after the initial chapter, the next update would contain the finished story. When I saw this update, I was quite excited, and then subsequently disappointed that, while it's been some time since I last played and I don't perfectly remember what was included in the first release, there appeared to be very little new content. Anway, hope the writing goes well.

I was a MASSIVE fan of Slugs and Bugs, it was not only one of my favourite pieces of erotic fiction, but it's one of my biggest inspirations when it came down to wanting to write my own erotic game. Having played what content is avaliable, I can safely say that this game is no disapointment. It has what made Slugs and Bugs great, good writting and erotic images. I highly reccomend this to anyone who liked the first, or is interested in the subject to any degree, you won't be disapointed.
