Feeling Blue

Feeling Blue is a Sci-Fi erotic game about becoming.. attached to a little Blue alien.

This development is as much (or more) about my effort to learn 'TwineCraft' as provide entertainment.

The game is still in 'Concept' mode, but carries the user past the introductory premise to the first main fork.

Please forgive what I am sure are many mistakes, but also please let me know so I can correct them.

** THE LATEST UPDATE WILL BREAK SAVE FILES OF PREVIOUS VERSION **

There are no images.. as of yet.. I really wanted to focus on mechanics and flow first.

At close to 35,000 words, I hope you find it entertaining.

A little blue alien has symbiotically attached to you.  Can you learn to live together?  Do you have a choice?

Gus - The player (selectable name in later versions)

I hate to say it, but I am not a fan of this one.

I think it's possible to divide all fiction you feel is subpar into two camps: stories that have flaws, and stories that are just bad. And I'm sorry, but I would say that Feeling Blue is just bad.

This is an interactive story that is purely text-based. That's fine, it's not a problem on its own, but the idea of making a twine game purely text-based is that you can use the time you would have used making a GUI or images and spend it on improving the quality and quantity of the writing. This is not the case with Feeling Blue. There isn't a lot of text, and what text is there isn't great.

For example, in the first section of the game, you have to feed Blue by giving it semen to progress the story. There are only two options for doing this, and they're to masturbate or to essentially molest people on a subway. If neither mild chikan nor a dude masturbating alone in his apartment do it for you, you're shit out of luck because those are the only two choices. If you are into that, I sure hope you're reeeeally into it because you're going to be seeing those scenes a lot. And while I can't speak for the the fans of either camp, I can't characterize the writing quality of either scene any more positively than "potentially adequate".

If one was feeling charitable, you might say that these are issues that content patches are capable of fixing, and I do hope that that is the case, but I also had other problems with the writing that run deeper. Unlike most games in this genre, the protagonist has a defined personality, although what personality it is will be defined by what route you go down. However, in none of the routes did I find him or any other character to be likeable. Everyone is either totally selfish, mean, exploitative, and abusive, or a pathetic spineless loser. These aren't characters I want to spend a long game with.

Feeling Blue struggles to be erotic, and it struggles as a work of fiction generally. It's striving to be a great story, and I truly respect that, but it isn't, and it isn't close.

I would like to see this game succeed, as the concept is fairly unique, and in the hands of the right author I think it could be awesome. However, I don't think this author is that author, at least not yet.

Great concept, great pacing. I love the sissification/castration stuff. My only complaint is that it ends too early!

this definitely isnt bad. i like the writing aside from a thing thats just a personal turnoff. that thing is the forced castration. perhaps theres a way around it that i havent discovered, but its a thing that totally kills my enjoyment anytime its mentioned again through the story. that wouldn't be a problem if i could advance the story in any meaningful way before then or get them back after but again i dont know a way to do that. other than that its good stuff and excellent feminization.

I like the concept and what is here is written very well. Eagerly awaiting more content!

Latest update, many bugs have been introduced with the new content. Literally error flags everywhere once you get to the new content, did you even give this a run through before you posted it???
