There are many games about being turned from a man in to a submissive, slutty woman.
This is not a game like that.
The Guide to Being Assertive follows the protagonist as they're turned from a man into a woman after a hypnosis session. The protagonist is a pushover, desperately stressed and close to a mental breakdown. But thanks to their therapist, that's all going to change.
This version includes the introduction, which sets up the story, includes the initial transformation from male to female (with multiple variations), and generally takes a few minutes to play through. Future versions will include the core gameplay loop, involving minor life-sim aspects with a major focus on corruption and domination.
You've never been confident, and it's driven you to the point of a mental breakdown, especially after one of your newest co-workers takes advantage of your insecurity to torment you and push you to the brink of getting fired. Your therapist has an idea that might be able to help you, but the hypnosis session is going to go far, far off the rails. Not that you mind. You'll be too busy being the confident, assertive person you've always wanted to be. And if anyone doesn't like that, well...you'll have to find a way to convince them.
Protagonist - You. You're a bit...okay, a lot of a pushover. But there's still a chance for you to be stronger.
Cindy - The Tormenter. Cindy has made your life a living hell since she started working at your job six months ago. She noticed that you can't stand up for yourself, and she's been more than happy to take advantage of that and push you into the mud in the process.
Travis - The Boss. Your boss, specifically. Cindy has been the instigator, but Travis has been complicit in your torture, since he's the one that keeps siding with Cindy. You actually like your job, and you'll need to have Travis on your side to keep it.
Annie - The Receptionist. She's always nice and friendly, and she even seems to kind of like you a little bit. You would never do anything to hurt her, would you?
Kathy - The Co-worker. Kathy works at the desk next to you, and keeps herself busy throughout the day. She's driven to succeed and ambitious, but she's never been mean to you.
Mina - The Accountant. Mina works in another department, and has an elegant, almost exotic air to her. She's beautiful and smart and you doubt you'll ever work up the courage to talk to her.
Todd - The IT Bro. Todd is the antithesis of everything you think about when you think about IT. He's muscular, into sports, and likes to call people "bro". He has nothing but confidence, and you kind of admire him for that.
Dr. Halliday - The Therapist. Your mental health professional, Dr. Halliday has your best interests at heart. It's thanks to her that you've been able to stay relatively sane for the last few months.
Sheila - The Secretary. Dr. Halliday's assistant. Sheila is nice and always has a smile for you, though your relationship with her is strictly professional.
v0.1h - Fixed an issue with Doctor Halliday's "dominate" dialogue option, as well as a minor text bug.
v0.1g - Fixed an issue that broke the scale for determining your ultimate path, and also an issue that prevented you from dominating Halliday.
v0.1f - Fixed an issue with sibling picture towards the end of the intro.
v0.1e - Turns out the intro wasn't quite complete: added the last part of the introduction/prologue. Also added some stuff to the "You" descriptors, like pictures.
v0.1d - Fixed more inconsistencies of variables, so that breast size and breast growth should be more consistent. Also fixed some issues with naming, and a bug that could get you soft-locked when buying underwear.
v0.1c - Fixed issue with the "penis envy" variable, so it should now be possible to end up as a shemale. Also fixed an issue with a Doctor Halliday picture.
v0.1b - Most errors should now be corrected.
v0.1a - A single variable was not set correctly in the intro. It was important, so a new version has been uploaded.
v0.1 - "The Introduction". Covers the player's initial transformation, introduction of the main characters, and story set up.
Simply a great start hope to see more of it!
Excellent prologue from an excellent author! If the rest of the game is as good as the prologue (and cursed...) we'll have a winner!
My only (small) complaint is that I think the transition to full on dom should be stretched out longer from the prologue into the main game. Have it take a bit longer to be comfortable being a woman etc.
I'm so happy to see a new game from AM, and its about being TFed to be a dom, which is woefully underused on this site.
A wonderful start from an esteemed author, this'll be one to watch.
Given how far AM has pushed RAGS in their earlier games, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with Twine.
This is a very promising start. This game features a player character capable of becoming empowered and taking control of their own changes and life, and that's a pretty fun thing. The quality of the writing and game design is pretty great to boot. I'm really looking forward to further updates of this.
