Wish Gone Wild

Plot

Nathan Spade is a regular guy who is having a bit of a quarter life crisis since his girlfriend abruptly left him and he became overusing porn. His career has taken a hit because of this. His friend recommends that he is see a gypsy who can fix his problems.

After meeting her, Nathan gets transformed (over 24 hours) into a woman. What will he she do now? Who will she tell? Will they believe her? Can she get her body back? If not, what kind of woman will she become? Those the are questions that this game is going to explore.

Some of the game's themes are inspired by the game Disco Elysium, a wonderful RPG but is heavily text based. In Disco Elysium the game is about what kind of cop you are. In Wish Gone Wild, it's about what kind of a woman you are.

This game will explore how Nathan adjusts to his new body and life and whether he will make the choices that will enable him to get his body back. Or not.

Release 2.1

Fully mobile compatible now.

Release 2

Release furthers the story and adds some (and only some) part of game mechanics like XP and leveling. There are a few more interesting characters. Still a long way to go.

The audio has been removed for now because of how frequently I make changes. But it will be added back once the game is completed.

Release 1

So Chapter 1 of Wish Gone Wild is officially out.

Chapter 1 has enough content for about 20-30 minutes. The story is about a young man called Nathan Spade who has the misfortune of become a woman mysteriously. The game is text based and is inspired by the game Disco Elysium. Disco Elysium is about what kind of cop you will become. In Wish Gone Wild, it's about what kind of a woman you will become.

The game currently covers only 1 of planned 5 chapters.

Currently unplayable on mobile. Mobile support will be added in a future version.

v2.1:

Not bad. Writing is solid and has a mystery to it with how you interact with people based on what you're trying to make your avatar be. Images (where they're used) are all appropriate and add to setting the scene. Interaction in the game is good but at this alpha stage release, you'll find yourself wanting to see more of what your status selections on character building at the start of the game will influence. Transformations in the game are very linear and limited with the locked process that the story is telling at this stage; I'd like to see more develop off your avatar decisions, but I don't think that's the sort of game we've got here: it'll be more story than that.

Overall I enjoyed the taster that this release is and I look forward to further developments.

Recommended.

Good illustrations, correct story, everything is clean & simple, but the game is way too short for not (not finished tho)

Decent intro sequence, kinda sussy UI. I mean why add numbers next to the options if you aren't going to hook the onkeydowns for ez hotkeys? A missed opportunity for truly good UI.

Now this is entirely personal and subjective, but DARK MODE would like to know your location. Seriously, it's enough that TFG gives me eye cancer every time I visit, but dark mode, at least optionally, should be included.

Really don't mind the audio being removed, it never added anything special, probably just a waste of time adding it back.

For some reason I found the characters underwhelming. I'm sure that will change as more writing will extend the storyline, but it seems that there really isn't anything catching or memorable. Hell, a side character in the muse side quest had more personality than pretty much all the main characters introduced in the workplace or even the neighbor.

Anyway, to keep it short:

++ Decent writing

+ OKish UI

- Forgettable characters

Now that it's mobile-compatible I can say that I really enjoyed the start of this one. It's setting up a good world, but it's still clearly just getting started. I haven't explored too much about consequences of various decisions yet, but the writing is good and the UI is clean. Great start and on my list to keep an eye on.

This is great! Still not a huge amount of content, but really nailing the Disco Elysium vibe very well. Makes the game very distinct compared to other CYOA on the site. Please keep the updates coming.
