Getting Married

This is maybe the single game of mine thatwould profit most from art.

Regarding the Patreon link: A couple of people have asked me in the last few years about a patreon link for my games. I cannot accept any money for games, or I would have to ask my boss for a special allowance to work in my spare time: I live in a country with special job regulations.
Pervy Sage is an artist who will illustrate all my games in due time. Pery has a patreon:

Perversity is a one man operation working on art commissions, while also working on different projects of his own creation. When dealing with commissions he's willing to undertake any kind of art request. While the projects he works on tend to usually sit in the science fiction, or superpowers genre of games. His projects tend to look more reflect real life situations, than fantasy outlooks (IE: the real world is a pretty bad place, and he doesn't see any particular reason to hide that, or lie about it) the real world is a grimdark setting, and his projects tend to reflect this.

In "Getting Married" an adult player can take the role of Ash, who is taken from unhappy pre-college days to an uncaring middle-aged place where some adventure and much physical labour await the new Ash.

The game contains rude language and some easy brutality as well as hand-drawn graphics (no photos) and should be avoided be the soft-hearted. No one will give out freebees, help has to be earned the hard way and the morals of people ingame are inexcuseable elsewhere.

Expect to be roughed up more than once.

I have added two additional options for the gameplay (the fairy-tale option and the hardcore option) and replaced some of the drawings. Most remaining drawings are part of the hardcore opitons now. The game has become marginally more difficult and the disclaimer has been added to.

I welcome operationalable feedback but refuse to further play with trolls: takes too much time.

Please post feedback and coments in the game thread and post reviews as reviews. Now many people are doubtful on what makes a review a review. Therefore I am adding a review that I wrote myself to this synopsis. Please note that among other things regarding form and structure a neutral rather than raging stance towards the reviewed game is mandatory for writing a review.

"Getting Married" was posted on the 1.2.2015 in the forum and faster than many games generated several negative "reviews" and some comments in the connected thread. The general opinion expressed by the critics are: low quality of writing, bad story, abusive treatment of the palyer character and inept graphic done with Paint. At the same time "Getting Wedding" generated 8 "Likes" and several positive comments in the thread.

The game sends the player character -who gets to choose his or her sex by a single question right at the start- to a medieval world where chivalry and courtly love have no place. Starting in a forest hut, the game as of now eads the character through a series of encounters to the gates of a small town, where she will be supposed to make a career.

The encounters on the way to this town lean heavily toward abusive sex that the player character will either suffer or witness, helpless to fight her way out of any dire straights. There are, however, ways to avoid all forms of abuse. Some, but not all of the (other) can be helped: but trying to do so may result in the player character getting abused herself.

The game is not meant or to be recommended for people who hate the author or are unwilling to head the warnings. To quote:

"This is an adult game featuring sexual intercourse in some variations, drawn pictures, evil magicks and any number of rude and abusive things: one of them being the abuse of the English language, of course.
If you do not like to play a game like that: don't.
If the game could harm you because you are under legal age or for any other reason: do not play it."

I can recommend the game to anybody who likes other games of the author or is willing to try it out. If the first pages should disagree with you, then you should quit the game.

You need to make a life in a strange with what you got: good boobs, a firm ass and your ill-defendable virginity. Catch a husband, land a safe position, or end in a brothel with a price tag bruned into your ass.

Ashley, Ashton. Their absent parents.

The fallen one who needs some silence. Others who hinder him so that Ash survives angering him.

A world full of dickheads and bitches. Heavily armed ones.

Have you seen "Nirvana"?

Then why did you disturb the old man while he was meditation?

Now try and survive among knights, ladies and cutthroats.

Okay so Lerianis is slightly wrong when it comes to marriage, children, etc, but she is right when we say we dont give a flying fuck about your political opinion. You arent bad, and I do agree people should not sleep around too much before marriage but then again, everyone has the right to do with their body as they please more or less. So if you want to sleep around, cool. If you dont want to, cool. And no actually, children raised in single family homes tend to be more pre-disposed to crime, jail, etc because they were raised in a home without the second parent, or at least a step parent. It shows both in low income and high income. Look up the stastics, or better yet look at white upper-class homes with single parents, or parents who are barely there. Most often there will be either cocaine, heroin, opiod, or marijuana usage. I dont care if you use those drugs, everyone has the right to self destruction with the exception of pot being a self destructive narcotic. Anyway, in those types of homes you will most often see where the heroin and opiod usage amongst the white community is located at, mainly because of single or barely there parent or parents. Sorry if I seem like a hypocrite, again I wanted to set the record straight and not go off on this stupid SJW kill-the-family type of crap because societies need familes with both parents if they ever want to maintain the culture and country.

Aside from politics heres the bottom line. Your content is love-hate, we dont care about your political opinion, we are here to play good games, and for those of us in this section, masturbate. Thats it.

Blauz's games are a love-hate relationship for me and while I do like some of them, there are others I can only play once and that's it.

This is one of those later games as of this version. And that's taking into account all of the warnings and advance notice Blauz has given.

It's really heavy-handed with the virtue line and the sudden throw back to in time caught me off-guard given the initial choices, but that wasn't too bad. What really started to aggravate me was the crude MS Paint drawings (Is it a joke? A Take That at past reviewer comments since they rarely include photos now? I couldn't say...) and number of game-ending traps you could stumble on that would cut off almost all the multiple endings without you even realizing it.

There are game definitions that you'll see while making choices (HCO? FTO?) that you may not figure out without a lot of trial and error (or perhaps without going into the forum to see what someone else discovered). You'll run into early code errors that prevent certain choices from being made, which might railroad you into a game-ending trap. You'll click on things that you think are descriptions of a character only to discover that they were a game choice due to an odd loop code bug and find yourself railroaded yet again.

But at the heart of it there is a coherent story here, if a malicious one regardless of how virtuous you play your avatar. Characters you meet are one-dimensional (with the odd commentary cursing their situation to give them some backstory with more MS Paint work if you're lucky), situations that seem mostly reasonable if you think outside the box often end up not and you suffer for it.

I don't mind a torture game. I don't mind one where everything is trying to kill you or failure stalks you at every corner and you damn well know it but have slim odds of being able to get out of it (SCP: Containment Breach anyone?).

But when it's not even got the writing to back it up so I can even get a rough gauge on whether or not an NPC is going to brutalize my avatar? Sorry, that's a deal breaker and it's the reason why the forum now has a multi-page thread about what people hate in a game.

I'll check on this again later in development, but as it is right now I can't recommend it. If you're personally interested in a challenging game where brutal failure stalks you at every turn when you least suspect it maybe this is for you.

Blauz is one of those game developers that you either love their games or hate them. I personally loved them until he started on this 'anti-sex outside of marriage' schtick in the latest games.

He is great at writing Twine games that actually work (no bugs for the most part) however his social commentary gets real old, real fast.

Sorry Blauz: Marriage is NOT a stable form of life in the real world and hieing yourself to a person for a lifetime is stupid. Life is too changeable and chaotic to do that in the real world, children or not, and there is no evidence that children in marriages compared to those raised by single parents do better WHEN YOU COMPARE INCOME LEVEL TO SAME INCOME LEVEL!

It is not about the marriage: It is about income level and that is something we need to work on since work is work is work is work. All are worthy of a living wage in the real world.

The author shows the same commitment to quality and storytelling as they have with all their other games: none whatsoever.

One of the worst games I've played in a long time. The writing is terrible, the "art" is atrocious MS Paint garbage mixed with the occasional weird banners the author is known for. The story is pointless and unimaginative, and the transformation content is just a single boring gender swap.

No redeeming qualities whosoever. Complete waste of time.
