You are a disgraced scientist, publicly shamed after a life-extension drug you created resulted in the deaths of 40 people, terminated after becoming infectious, sex-hungry zombies. On your own, you've recreated your research, and plan to use it to destroy the world that scorned you.
Kidnap test subjects, convert them into zombies, and study them to develop the ultimate zombie virus and bury the world in a tide of infected bodies.
Changelog:
v1.01: No longer start with a maxed-out virus strain. No longer possible to "Overdevelop" a trait, meaning that it should be faster to max out research. Intro has been updated a little, fixing a few grammar issues and making it read a little smoother.
This game wasn't first time I'd used Twine, but it was my first time using it in a capacity more complex than just a simple text adventure. More graphics, to represent the rest of the scenes in the game, will be coming. I tried to make a game that was simple, and which could be completed in a reasonable timeframe and actually released in a state I would find acceptable. I hope this will be the first in a series of similarly-themed games.
The game is in a COMPLETE state. That means you're not going to run into any content walls or find out there's no game to speak of just five minutes in, or run into any majorly unfinished systems.
Graphics were made using Kisekae. Game made using Twine 2 with Sugarcube 2.
That was pretty deece.
I'm not sure what, if anything, determined when I developed the knowledge to purchase higher upgrades, but apart from that it was a fun time.
Agreeing with the other review, it can be somewhat of a grind at times: capture a few subjects, infect, pass time to let infamy die down/more buyers to show up, repeat. However, once I was done upgrading to the maximum...my final serum was equal in stats to my beginning serum...oh well?
While a tiny bit of a slog at times, this is a fun little experience that does what it sets out to do - as such I recommend it!
