Walking In The Shadow of Doubt

This is a game for a long loved and played fantasy character of mine (who will undergo some changes in the game).

This is as of now the introducion and two stumps: the second chapter is a narrative for now (to a point) and the third chapter is just beginning. Both will be completed in time; and I plan to post more game for this character in this post, but as seperate games (to download and play): since the rules forbid second parts I will post additional chapters in this post and on the same game thread.

Regarding the Patreon link: A couple of people have asked me in the last few years about a patreon link for my games. I cannot accept any money for games, or I would have to ask my boss for a special allowance to work in my spare time: I live in a country with special job regulations.
Pervy Sage is an artist who will illustrate all my games in due time. Pery has a patreon:

Perversity is a one man operation working on art commissions, while also working on different projects of his own creation. When dealing with commissions he's willing to undertake any kind of art request. While the projects he works on tend to usually sit in the science fiction, or superpowers genre of games. His projects tend to look more reflect real life situations, than fantasy outlooks (IE: the real world is a pretty bad place, and he doesn't see any particular reason to hide that, or lie about it) the real world is a grimdark setting, and his projects tend to reflect this.

Bug was found and seen to.

You are a Templar, a kirk thaen. Go do your duty once more before you retire.

_ _

In the second part (starting chapter only) you are the same character, a while later: now living as a retired wizard in a great city.

You: a kirk thaen.

Several clerics and squires: live is hard out in the wilderness, and sometimes people die.

Various members of your family.

A couple of friends.

Undead monsters, living monsters, monsters that never were alive...

This is a solo campaign: if you do not follow the plot the game cannot offer alternative routes.

Please feel free to build a sandbox game for those choice: I will love playing that game.

9/5/2023: added a second part: first chapter only. I thought I had lost the data in a computer crash, but there it is.

I've read a lot of your tales, liking some more than others. To be honest I tend to start skimming the text however as they are often verbose.

However, this one is an engrossing story from start to finish.

As a story, it is a complex world and logical tale.  Leaving the review just to say -- well done.

In fairness however, it is not much of a game.  Most incorrect options lead to instant dead ends.  There is some side content that is interesting, but does not impact progress.

Hello Blauz.,

I wish I could leave this review on the game page, but it appears you don't allow them and I can't leave them because the rules changed a few years back and I don't have the forum posts.

I've played some of your games before, or tried to. I must confess I've never gone very far as I found your style really hard to read. Your ideas are so interesting I keep trying. So I tried this one. I am very glad I did.

In my opinion, you have improved incredibly in readability. While some passages were hard to follow, many were fine, and I was finally able to play a game and appreciate the world and the characters you came up with. It was a lot of fun. The world building was interesting and done at a nice pace, and I really felt that I was experiencing the thoughts and adventures of a retiring knight in a harsh world. The combat system added to the feeling that the kirk thaen was a formidable fighter - but still mortal. It all worked together really well for me.

I got stuck at the tower to get his (her) parents back, but that was the first time I ran into a bad end but I stopped playing because I went to bed not because I was bored with the game. I'll definitely try to finish it off.

You've made many great games and you keep trying new things. I appreciate your dedication and inventiveness. Thank you for sharing Lysander's journey.
