The path ahead is filled with dangers and temptation.
The question is…
shall you embrace it…
reject it…
or find the path between?
In Desire Guardians, you play as a young Black Man, moving to a small rural town in the middle of nowhere to start a new life for themselves.
However, in doing so, they end up getting roped into a metaphysical realm where the suppressed desires (so basically, their kinks) take on physical form, and need to be defeated before they turn dark and dangerous.
However… the realm itself seems to have it’s own ideas on what to do with our young protagonist… perhaps uncovering some “Desires’ that even they themselves are unaware of. The gameplay is split into 3 segments, a daytime section to prepare for the fights ahead, an exploration section, where you delve into the realm to face the creatures within, and an after work section, where you explore the town and can spend time interacting with your friends and fellow party members.

V28.1 Bugfixes
Alright, I've played for a few hours, and completed about 4-6 dungeons, (Which are fairly small, which I don't mind.) so I figured I'd share my opinions.
Edit: Finished the game.
TL;DR: It's a good game, but it has some flaws that could have been fixed before calling it complete.
The Magical Camp Insperation is clear given some of the gameplay elements, which is nice (3 guesses as to why).
Some most of the enemies are damage sponges, especialy in the Squarecorp area (Hint: What're a Robots Weakness?). Luckily I found a hidden stash of "Kills any enemy" pills, otherwise I don't think I could have beaten that boss.

The TFs are interesting. So far, they seem entirely missable/optional, as they're gained via In Dungeon Events, such as opening certian chests or going into a certian area, Talking to a NPC, or [Absorbing a Core].
So far, I've only noticed one typo, so that's good. Edit: Several more typos were spotted, as well as text being cut off by the edge of the screen/text box.
Honestly, so far, my only disapointment has been the lack of visual changes. Like, the Dialogue says the MC's hair has grown, or their face has become rounder and more feminine, but those aren't reflected in the character menu avatar, and i haven't found a Mirror type object to list the TFs I've gained. (Downstairs bathroom mirror. Still doesn't show any visual changes sadly.) It seems there were Plot reasons. Cool, glad to be proven wrong! (Though the Makeup TF sadly doesn't show any makeup outside of the cutscene it's gained in, despite being mentioned in the text.)
That said, maybe Magical Camp just spoiled me with how good it was?
Well, that and the fact that the battles are somewhat tedious, and don't give EXP, so it's better to avoid them when able.
Honestly, I wish this game had a "disable enemies" option like Magical Camp does, because Mommy Clinic was very anoying to get through. (it also has a NPC at the end that's glitched and unable to be interacted with.) (Succubus Cave in the monster swamp has a book on a table that has no hit box and can't be interacted with. Also, [Victoria's/Team Domina's Core] is unobtainable)
The Story is a slow burn, semi mystery, though you can figure stuff out in advance if you're paying atention and are smart/experianced enough.
The story is ALSO [A journy of self discovery of a closeted(even to themself) Trans Girl] which is rather uncommon from what i've seen on this site, so that makes me enjoy the story more than others.
The Characters are likeable, and have decent personalities.
Anyway, so far I'd give the game 8/10. It could use more polish, but what's there is fairly good. And it's a finished game! Those are rather uncommon.
I'll update this review when I've consumed more of the content. (I wish it had a Wiki, cause I want to know where to find the Basement Key. Edit: Found it. Unlocked via Party member interaction.)
Ps, during one of the after work events with julia, she shows the PC an anime with characters named: Kuroba,Akane,Sumire and Beniko. I've understood most of the reffrences so far (JJBA,MHA, and DemonSlayer based attacks) but I have no idea what this is reffrenceing. At first I thought it was Totaly Spies, but that's a western show. Could someone DM me the answer? I've tried googling the names, but got nothing. Is it a real anime, or did the dev make it up?
Edit: It's called "Radical Magic" based on the dialogue in the winter mountian area, and seems to be a Magical Girl Anime version of Totaly Spies.
Also, is the [Dildo Masterbation Scene] suposed to stay the same, or am I missing something? I [Absorbed a Core (Forgot which one, maybe Sand?)] that said it would effet it, but nothing changed no matter how many times I do it.
Honestly, I have to say this is the most infuriating game I've ever played on this site. Author has moved onto a second game, but this one isn't polished, and the gameplay itself is just...
I've never had an rpg maker game make me so angry. I get the idea that you're supposed to avoid enemies, that's fine, but there are areas where you cant' avoid them, and half the time they are immune to whatever you can do. Add onto that the ability of most of them to 4 shot your characters with low rolls, and it just isn't satisfying to play.
I didn't realise a game could have some of the most tedious coombat possible and SOMEHOW make it worse the farther in the game you get. The sheer amount of enemies that you aren't actually supposed to fight makes me actually want to pull my hair out as instead of this being an rpg game it's more like a shitty stealth game. Plot was interesting though, just wish the gameplay didn't make me want to have a tiny screen of subway surfers in the bottom right in order to not fall asleep while playing it.
Played through for like 12 hours... up to the middle of the next morning!
Did all current content, fml.
I am SO FREAKING TIRED now...
BUT!!! It was a good game, if a bit unfair at times. Kind of made me nostalgic for old SNES games with its unfairness in some places! Hypno-boss, and only character standing is the Protagonist bc I equipped her with the anti-status clothes.
Tournaments were a fun addition, even if the last "Legacy Cup" was just Protag vs four bosses at once, bc the others were all KO'd.
Despite the NSFW drawings, the content itself was remarkably tame... in most places...
Plot was minimal but engaging. I liked how you learned a bit here and there, rather than ginormous exposition dumps. You learned some key points, just by the characters' own actions and the situations they became embroiled in.
The writer seemed remarkably able to give their characters distinct personalities, and was remarkably inventive and innovative.
Very nice little game, despite its currently unfinished condition.
I am enjoying this game a lot, and followed updates up to the newest public version. I have to say, there's a lot I like, but a lot I think could be improved. I am a big fan of the dungeons, and the fact that you can easily avoid enemies if you wish, though some of them seem quite laggy, like the idol one and the mammary one. I also feel that the bad ends are a little lackluster. I like the custom art, but I feel that the content contained in the bad ends could go on for a few more lines each, particularly in the newer ones.
On the technical side, I noticed a new submission event for Athena was mentioned in v20, but there was no such event in the game when I tried to speak to her, after having finished all of her prior events before v20.
