Welcome to Shifter V0.1.0!
Unfortunately, Shifter had to be discontinued due to lack of funding. Please see my Patreon page for a full explanation and public testing build. I am sorry to any fans of the game.
Firstly, I wanted to say thank you for your support and feedback thus far. Seeing those likes on my game really gives me the drive to continue developing. V0.1.0 is the first update of the lower deck, and Qinto are finally in-game! Let me know what you think!
With all that out of the way, if you're new here:
My goal for this game is to make something that could be played at two speeds. If you want some quick fun to mess around with, just play through. But if you want to spend some time and get to know the lore/background, there's tons of info in the compendium to sift through. Plenty more content is to come, and please see the 'walkthrough' page for any help with progression. This game REQUIRES an internet connection as of now, however I plan on changing within the next few builds. A strong internet connection is recommended for seamless play, however the new preloading code should be able to help with loading. Thank you so much for taking your time to check out the game, and let me know any thoughts you might have!
A Note for Returning Players:
This build does NOT require a restart. You can continue from your last save. However, that save may not transfer automatically to the new build. In order to prevent issues cuased by this, I recommend that you visit the previous version of the game (https://freebird17.neocities.org/Shifter0.0.5.html) and save your game to disk. If there are any issues with this please let me know, and I'll do what I can.

Known Bugs:
• Image transitions don't work great on Chrome
• Switching to Male custom form from Female will cause breast size to remain until passage is changed
You are a member of a sentient species of Shape-Shifting beings who has been charged with commandeering an axis vessel in a cold war climate– only the war is so much more than meets the eye.
A walkthrough can be found on my wiki: https://shifter.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page
V0.1.0h:
• Fixed tease ass move error in battle: The tease ass move would give an error in some battle sequences due to improper syntax.
• Fixed tease ass selection error: Selecting the TA move in the moves window could throw an error at times
• Fixed improper move naming: The show chest move was labeled 'show tits' in the moves window
• Fixed spelling error: Was in the random encounters
V0.1.0:
• Lower Deck Added: The lower deck of the ship has been added, with all coding and images.
• Elevator Use: The elevators are now useable in-game once you have the key(s).
• Random Encounters: The locker rooms are now a host to six (sometimes seven) random encounters.
• New Required Boss: Sylvyanh is in-game, the first ever Qinto character! She has two paths that the player can choose.
• New Optional Boss: The Warden is in-game for players who found the hidden dialogue on the middle deck, and can pursue that route with some rpg-elements.
• Extra Compendiums: There are some more new compendium entires outside of those mentioned above!
V0.0.5:
• New Boss: 'Olympus' has been added as the final boss of this deck of the ship, and he brings a ton of unique mechanics to the game.
• New Move: The 'Tease Ass' move has been added, which is a unique special move, and depends only on the player's current form.
• New Perk: Hard Skin II is now a part of the game!
• New Hidden Dialogue: There's a bonus bit of dialogue to be found at the end of the deck; it reveals some of the plot of the next deck.
• Footage Updates: I revised some of the footage for the show chest move, and added a new collectible footage for praetorians.
• Various minor bugfixes: Self-explanatory.
• Setting up for Lower Deck: I spent some time setting up the map and code for the lower deck.
• New Compendium Entries: As per usual here.
V0.0.4:
• Finished Wiki: I finished all of the Wiki entries that are relevant to the game currently.
• Revised preloading code, added setting: I changed how the image preloading code works (especially during battle), further reducing the downtime of video loading. Additionally, I added a setting to the menu that can toggle additional loading if desired.
• Comp-2XX Questline Start: I made the first introduction to the second questline in the game, and the important character to that questline.
• Comp-3XX Questline Start: I made the first introduction to the third questline in the game.
• Ability to continue saved games on updates: Self explanatory; it took some coding tricks to get it to work though.
• Code Fixes: Some of the new mechanics required a complete rework of the game code, especially with the battle sequences. More behind-the-scenes stuff, but it took me some time.
• Move swapping: Added the ability to change which moves you want in between battles.
• Heal Move: The 'Rejuvinate' move is now available in-game.
• Sense Perk: The Sense perk has been implemented for all current enemy types, including the form bosses.
• New Compendium Entries: As per usual here.
V0.0.3:
• New side quest content: Added the TF side quests, allowing the player to obtain the largest breast, ass, and cock sizes.
• Links Page: Added a quick-access page for all important links relevant to the game development, on the left sidebar
• Wiki: Added the Official Shifter Wiki, which can be found in the new Links page on the left sidebar.
• Preloading: Added some code that will assist in loading the more problemic images early, so as to reduce downtime and make the game look cleaner. This change is still itself in a beta form, and will be improved over time.
• UI improvements: Some UI elements in-game were further improved upon, albeit subtle changes (such as colors, image sizes, etc.)
• NPC Images: Added new renders for the four random-encounter NPCs currently in the game, both male and female. I may want to improve upon these (specifically the male ones) in the future, though.
• Intro Warning: Not that anyone would care about this, but I added a little NSFW and legal warning at the beginning of the game just in case I ever need it.
• New Footage: Added new obtainable footage for Guards, Maintenance, Praetorians, and HL.
• A few other things that I forgot: I need to start writing these down.
V0.0.2:
• New main story content: Added the Sam storyline, who is officially the last of the 'intro' bosses, and begins the first branching off from the main story
• Compendium-based story: Added the Miku storyline, the first non-main quest character, and the first story that requires Compendium reading. This will be expanded on greatly, and there are more to come!
• Male custom form: Added images and code for the male selective transformation, and with it, new options for the PC (ie. CB, Sissy, etc.)
• UI improvements: I vastly improved the overall look of the game from the bland, grey-black state it was previously in
• Code improvements: Shit's still janky as hell, but hey, it's my first game
• SFX improvements: I reduced the playtime of all buttons/links, allowing them to be clicked faster without glitching the noise
• Patreon/Discord
Great start, very excited for more content to be added
v0.0.1:
Writing is strong with good backstory there to read if you are interested. Interactivity is good with clues and items for you to find to help you with your avatar's mission. Images in the game are servicable to the plot, but due to all being linked off the internet sometimes they don't load if you're going through the random encounters quickly (code just doesn't seem to handle it, but they do get counted in the gallery unlocks). Transformations in the game are varied but all working off the human baseline: no furries here, etc in this space adventure.
Overall I enjoyed this alpha release for the introduction to the game and what was available. I quickly made it through what story mission there was, then spend the rest of the time trying to unlock everything and see how far the transformation scope went for my own amusement: it actually goes fairly broad right now on the human baseline but if you're looking for "hyper" transformations they're not in the game yet or never will be.
Keen to see more. Recommended.
