Our game has a rich story and interesting characters. It also features a "level up" system, equipment to find, and skills to learn.
Form Bonds and Relationships – Meet new people and form relationships that help you along your quest. The way you behave towards them will affect their relationship with you. Some may help you throughout your adventure and during battles.
Discovery and Exploration – Decide where you go and what to do! Then, explore the town, and discover new locations and events during your adventure.
Learn to possess characters - Later in the game, you'll also be able to possess and control various characters.
Change outfits - The game features lots of outfits to choose from. Change Celicas's style to one that suits your taste.
Gorgeous Graphics, Full Animations – Experience impressive pixel art during battle, events, and sex scenes.
Battle Mode – Outside town, you can test your magic on various monsters in battle. Be careful, though; some of them will try to have their way with you in combat!
Collect Magic Items and Equipment – Discover hidden items and equipment that give various benefits in events and battles. Some of them may even change your character's appearance!
Multiple Status Ailments – Instill status ailments such as poison, paralysis, petrification, and more! But be careful, as enemies may do the same and leave you exposed!
Dynamic Day and Night – Time passes with every event and everything you do. Different events happen at different hours!
Combine and Create New Items – Use alchemy formulae to combine items and craft magic potions to aid you!
Learn multiple magic spells – Discover and learn different magic spells that will help you during your quest and in battle!
Level Up Skills and Abilities – Strengthen your magic as you level up. Learn new skills from equipment that will help you!
You control a girl of mysterious origin named Celica. She has just arrived in the magical town of Agnaror to train to become a mage.
Upon arriving in town, you'll be greeted by members of a mage guild called "The Red Phoenix Guild." They will help you train and provide you with knowledge in the arts of magic.
Weirdly enough, you'll soon find out that the monsters are sexually attracted to you. But, of course, it could be something that has to do with Celica's past.
You will also meet interesting characters with questionable morals and intentions. Some of whom you'll become friends with. Some, something more...
In the magical town of Agnaror, things are not always as they seem. The town has a long history filled with battles against demons.
While on a mission, you'll meet a strange ghost. Little did Celica know that this ghost would change her life forever!

This game is not just like a real game, it is a real game. The current content amount beats some final fantasy games. Also the story is extremely creative and in some cases there are hidden jokes inside (stone slab with writing for a chair), which are however sometimes difficult to find and if you find out depending how long you tried maybe you find not that amusing ;D. Well like in real live what some find funny some find not, some would find it funny if they would not be so tired from trying.
The topic is a lot about control and posession and domination and the cool thing is, you can be on both sides possess other things and beings while the own body is possessed). This is a seldom feature seen in games, especially with this amount of content and while it is a already solid game!!
The possibility to control also the frequency with the shrine is really cool, also to see who has how much control over which body. Now I just would like to see more of these tags, but they might be added in the future.

So this game is formatted so much more like a "real game" than I expected from a Ren'Py game. This is not the usual visual novel with the same old anime sprites. The pixel art is fantastic reminding me of the late 1990s Lucasarts games like Monkey Island. The music is not bad, but after a while I did turn it down so I could just keep playing for hours without the same song loops. Very old school vibes with turn-based combat like the early Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy games. Like those, this game has a LOT of grinding for levels. The world is huge compared to most games here with multiple towns, biomes, and wilderness/dungeons to level up in. The outfits, accessories, spells and monsters are varied, you can see that a ton of work went into this game.
In terms of sexy content, there is a whole lot, most seems to center around spirit possession or monsters sexually assaulting the main character. The main character gets possessed, can possess others, and has a form transformation in the story, so there is TF content for sure even if it takes a bit of story progression to unlock it. I do wish the story were built on a faster pace than it appears to, with so many story events gated behind getting a certain level or building the affection of a certain character. Overall, definitely worth playing IMHO, one of the most polished games here, if this is the 'alpha' release then the completed game will be incredible.
Two things surprise me.
1) the alpha status of the entry (it's definitely not an alpha release and I'm glad someone recommended this game to me as I usually ignore alpha)
2) the fact that almost all reviews claim that there is no transformation in the game (at least this is not true for V68.008)
The game itself definitely surprised me in a positive way and it's a joy to explore the world and the story about the characters.
A lot of attention to detail has been put into the 2D graphics and animations. I'm also glad that I was allowed to discover the game so late, so even after what feels like over 40 hours of playing time, I'm still not finished with all the discoveries.
Contrary to what has been described in the reviews so far, the main character undergoes a massive transformation in the storyline. Both mentally and physically. The only thing that doesn't happen is a gender transformation, but I don't think that's necessary to fit into the overall context of this site.
Since I love adventure games with a good story, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the authors for giving me this successful combination of adventure, visual novel and RPG. All this, packed with tons of “adult content” makes Town of Magic one of my favorites!
The only thing that is a little unpleasant in the long run is the fact that repetitive battle scenes take quite a while, even if you play "whack-a-mousebutton" to shorten them a little.
It would be great if there was a temporary toggle switch in the battle menu to skip the battle animations and character reactions.
Out of pure interest, I also took a look at the source code. The way in which the screen layout with all the animations is carried out explains why the game becomes quite sluggish in certain combat scenes (especially when several characters/enemies are involved). There is certainly a lot of code that can be optimized here, but it's minor and time-consuming.
Not a tf game at all! I wonder why this game is still here....
