Maid for the Job
by RumaNan

Ruma Nanfi's first Twine project: A little story where your car explodes and end you end up as a secret government agent's maid in less than a week. In the meantime, you'll have make some good food, enjoy your time together, and have a probably unhealthy amount of sex.

This is a Twine game with no images. It does have around 200,000 words, though. It's mostly linear, but there are a few choices that affect both the immediate future and the ending you get. There are three endings. I should mention that you don't need to do perfectly to get one or the other - there's a healthy range for each of the three in case you make a "mistake."

A sort of "walkthrough" is included if you don't feel like guessing what the consequences of your actions are.

First you click a suspicious ad, then your car is bombed. A jet-black limo pulls up and that right there is the moment your life changes.

With the help of a silly, secret little biological weapon, you become the cutest experiment that agent has ever seen.

You - A usual office worker, a corporate consultant at some tech firm nobody cares about. You don't know it yet, but you're a better maid than consultant.

Sofia Ruminacht - A secret government agent working on creating Biological Weapons

And a couple other people, but they show up way later and don't have major parts.

v1.0.7:

Interactivity is moderate: you'll be presented with choices (but there is A LOT of text between those choices) and there are multiple endings in the game. Writing is 50/50: there is a lot of purple prose in this story and the supporting characters are very tough to like with your own avatar almost being a wallflower (choice dependent) or a cardboard cutout. Transformations in the game are low and everything is focused on slow MtF transformation, but with all the writing it is buried in there for the player to gradually find: there isn't even an interactivity option to see your avatar's description and keep tabs on their transformation progress.

Now for the hard part: this isn't a game, you're getting a novel and it's not even a visual novel. There are no graphics in this game or sound: it's classic Twine and wall of text. For the fetish chasers out there, there is maid content in this game but cooking is the priority. There is submission in this game with breaking of willpower, but your avatar is essentially just "slowly falling into it" on the neutral and nominally good paths. The bad path basically ends up with your avatar punished for their resistance, but that's about it.

This is a really tough game for me to review because if I review it as a CYOA game I didn't enjoy it and felt it was a waste of my time. If I look at it as a fanfic novel with small CYOA pieces in it, then it's not too bad and the writing is simply not my style of interest.

Can't recommend this one if you're after a game. But if you're after a story, worth a look.

The primary fetish of this story is cooking. Don't be confused by the "maid" references, there's not so much maid fetish content. It could easily have been called, "Turned into a sexy cook".

There is a bit of wearing a maid uniform, but it didn't hit the sexy buttons very hard. For those that are really into maids, this is not the thing.

The other key word here is story. It's a story. It's not a game. That's not a bad thing, it's just a fact. There are some different endings, but alas, the choices you make that lead to them are barely correlated with the outcomes. There aren't many choices, and they are mainly about things like whether you cook and clean, or just cook, or just clean. How these end up resulting in different fates for you and the world is puzzling, but they do.

The story itself is in a genre poular on Fictionmania twenty-years ago - unavoidable M2F transform with constant arousal during and highly sexualized after. This could be a big plus for some people, but I found it a little old-fashioned.

The transform is ok, but there's so much cooking and questionable sci-fi nanotech magic, so the sexiness feels buried sometimes. Some may call that depth. It's in the eye of the beholder.

The main supporting character is a hardcore Mary Sue and that got a little grating for me after a while. She is also seemingly oblivious to the risks posed by the antogonist, or shockingly overconfident, or ... whatever ... it just felt odd to me how she behaved at the end of the game.

There's quite a lot of story, and it's going to be fun for some, so I think it's good to be clear on what this is (and is not) so that people who will enjoy it go in eyes-wide open, and the people who would be annoyed by it know to avoid. For me, the idea of clicking through this three times to see all endings is ... not even remotely likely.

Cute but slow. It's a long time before there's any erotic content to be had here, and it could really use a good harsh edit (e.g. the two main characters talking for a whole page about coffee vs tea, which was neither relevant to the story or characters nor interesting in its own right, and there's quite a bit of stuff like that). The relationship is sweet enough that it's worth a slow build, but it's more of a slog than it needs to be. The thing I struggle with most, though, is the main character's lack of emotional response to the transformation. They just sort of takes it all in their stride like "You seem taller. Which probably means I somehow got shorter." (Also to the situation as a whole, I guess)

So, mixed feelings but worth a look, I reckon. Just don't expect a quick wank.

i like it, but it sure is filled with a lot of useless story, like do we really need to know when the MC measures what and how much? for each and everytime you cook food? seems a bit much
