In a mythical medieval universe, where magic exists deep within excluded circles from the common folks, hidden from the Holy knights who actively persecute magic users, we meet Peter. He is a man living in a world where females live about 1000 years and are extremely rare to born while males only live up to 80 years of age. This has resulted in different adaptations to keep population stable, and women are often used as breeding grounds to generate more people for the kingdom. Women have no rights and are usually breeders, prostitutes, or in rare cases, wives to rich men. Chauvinism is rampant in this world.
In this world where misogeny, slavery, crime and corruption thrive, the protagonist of the history finds his love florish day by day, for the beauty of his wife, the one he managed to trade all his money and his nobility to be able to marry, the daughter of a corrupt Lord.

Peter loves his wife, his wife turns into a whore, he keep loving her, he become a cuck, he can be changed into a woman, if so, he becomes a whore with his wife. The story is much more captivating than this resume, I swear...
Peter: The protagonist. Nice guy.
Sarah: Protagonist's wife. Playful with an innocent face, but not so innocent.
Erick: Protagonist's father. Pervert but good heart.
Aela: Protagonist's mother. Mind broken woman.
Amari: Protagonist's best friend. Crazy dude.
Timothy: Strongman.
Loki: Way too serious warlok dude.
Cerci: Dominatrix witch.
Bunch of other NPCs that populates the world.

So I'd prefer to get into the thick of it before reviewing a game, but at least in this version, at some point in the intro, which is the only thing i can speak on, which DRAGS, is too wordy, and is generally uninteresting, which given the description was rather uninteresting as it was but as a frequently updated game I had to give it a try, there is an external link that leads to another file that doesn't exist? Perhaps I was meant to keep it in it's version file but it shouldn't have. It's a POTENTIALLY, but unlikely interesting premise, that doesn't execute very well from the very little I was able to see of it before a gamebreaking error.
The most recent review kinda passively goes off over the AI but honestly it's fine, I have no issue with AI and is much less immersion breaking than the use of like a famous actor or something, like Giancarlo Esposito appearing in The SUP, as another story with a potentially interesting premise that actually executes well.
That other review also leads me to believe I probably wasn't very far into the intro, shortly after the timeskip, and that is pretty much the entirety of my critique. I'm down for gradual progression if it's done well, but you probably could have described what I've read thus far in two pages. If you aren't capable, please get a beta reader, or more accurately someone with digital scissors. From the little I can ascertain I feel like you have enough content to not need to be so dramatically padded.
I will definitely come back in a few versions to give it another shot and perhaps I'll have a drastically different take.
I wanted to write a useful review of this, but now I've written something, I feel it's not much help to the prospective reader.
All I can really say is that this is early days. So much is clearly missing and not implemented yet.
The presentation of the intro story is nicely done, but it goes on too long, and it's not 'the' game; it gives a somewhat deceptive impression of what the game is going to be like. That's probably fine for some people, possibly most, and I too can enjoy a slightly interactive story. e.g. Play Things is an example of a story with very few choices that I still enjoy and find super-hot. For me, the intro was a chore with no choices whatsoever. The introduction is completely linear, but I opted for the "new" intro, and maybe the old one has choices in it? I didn't feel interested enough to go back and try.
There *is* one choice you make up-front, one of three "kink" options basically, but that's it. After that, you just click through and you won't see the impact of your choice until the intro is over and the game gets started.
Eventually, you get into the game. This is in many ways different from the intro, as it's all about clicking through a lot of options. There's (often) a huge range of tiny, AI, NPC pictures to click on - that mostly do nothing. There's a money mechanic. There are story events, that ... I found it a struggle to read the walls of text about characters that seemed to be leading to fairly obvious plot routes.
The problem I have with The Rare Wife is that I didn't find it engaging. The characters have long winded conversations about ... almost ... nothing. Or, they repeat basically the same basic points over and over; there are story events with a lot of barely relevant detail; there's too much text that isn't doing real work.
The AI art looks like AI, and it's nice, but bland. It lacks in the way of character or feeling, and that's what I thought about the writing too. The protagonist, and to a lesser extent the suposedly ultra-desirable wife have vague and hard-to-see flaws, when their flaws could be what makes them work. The author spends time trying to establish the protagonist's character and stakes without resorting to obvious exposition. It's a good effort, but it could have been skipped and filled in later, at a point when it would be more relevant. As it is, it slows things down and it's hard to even remember all the background that is introduced as there's no clue which bits really matter.
Sometimes, when the scenes are briefer, and more to the point, they work. Lord Robert's pressure scenes are effective, but the meandering scenes with other NPCs can feel like filler.
I'm not saying the writing is inept or clumsy. It's not filled with tell-not-show exposition like some of the less satisfactory interactive stories around, but mostly this didn't work for me. The author is at their best when they keep things brief and to the point.
That's why I think this review is low value - I feel my dislike is very subjective. I didn't like this. It spends too much time (for me) setting up characters and background, and not enough just letting you make decisions or get into trouble. It is, under the hood, very much like a lot of games where you have a day to work through and various options unfold. Stepmother Effect is comparable in many ways - but far more direct and to the point. There are locations to go to, but in most cases, nothing is implemented there. You spend a lot of time clicking around, just looking for something to happen.
Perhaps the biggest problem for me is that the title character, The Rare Wife, did not work for me. I guess some people might like both her visuals and dialog style. I didn't; her creepy AI smile just made me dislike her. Sometimes her dialogue works, and it's certainly better when she's disappointed in the protagonsit, where it feels more honest and convinving, but her more upbeat moments were cloying and empty, and failed to establish her expectations of you - so when you betray them her disappointment comes out of nowhere. Then after she is brutally misused, she has game-chats that seems to indicate she is completely unfazed by what happened and she speaks pleasantly.
The M2F content is driven by the player in a very obvious way, and it feels like the protagonist is bringing that stuff up apropos nothing, and so it doesn't make sense as topics a person would naturally raise.
The hot male friend, Amari, we can well imagine what sort of sexual equipment he has... seems to be naked rather a lot of the time. The AI renders of him weren't enticing either. The relationship is so cheesily homoerotic that you can't take it seriously. This is another case where less would have been more for me. I'm all for hot male characters, but when the *only* real characters are the villain, the hot guy, and the wife that cucks you, the roles and the cast limitations mean things are all a little obvious for a supposed slow burn story.
Overall, this *might* work for you, but it probably has minority appeal. Not everyone is going to find this interesting, but I'm sure it will have an audience that enjoys it. Whether you fit into that group or not is something you will need to explore for yourself.
I think that if the creator edits this down again, removes most of the setup, and develops the actual gameplay somewhat, it can work better. Right now, there isn't enough of the game implemented to enjoy it, and the path is very much "plz feminize me" rather than something that feels organic.
I didn't review this game? Well, I did play it months ago so here it goes:
7/10 game. A good one but there is indeed a discontinuition in game as AI was not used for writing properly. For example there is another game called True Calling which uses AI quite heavily like this one but there use of AI improve the game by filling up the blanks left by the dev, here AI is not able to do so even if its trying hard, here still it feels like something is missing.
Besides that its good game, however M2F transformation story could have been better.
Playing this game for more than 20 minutes now and and really nothing happens. I am probably not doing the game justice as other reviewers seem to be able to actually DO something. I gave it up. Agree with the lengthy texts that add little to nothing to the game's progress. I do like the setting. There are hints of something going on, but I am not able to get plot going.
If the author made the graphics himself (with AI or not), then it's a nice accomplishment.
The narrative feels very disjointed in large part due to the AI text. There aren't so much defined quests or objectives as much as it's "make sure you click on everything each day so you don't miss something by accident." Human-generated text would drop hints about what your next action should be, but each passage feels like sterile, individual thing that happens to be set in the same universe as all the other sterile, individual things you're reading. For this reason, the side interactions feel superfluous, but also the main interactions don't have much weight, either. There are very few actual decisions to make, and with no "back" option it's disappointing how many of them lead to an illogical resolution (i.e., the decision of opening up a tavern is intrinsically linked to a game-alterting question about your wife, which the player has no control over).
I feel genuinely that this game would be significantly improved if each page of AI-generated text was replaced with a one-sentence summary. "Sarah tells you a story about a witch that once punished a man by turning him into a woman" is all I really need to know, but the game spends several pages of honestly bland text to get there. Add in something like "I wonder if someone like that lives in our town?" and you already have something more engaging than any of the current text in just two sentences.
I think there's a lot of possibility with the story that the author wants to build. But you can't build a house with only dry sand. You need bricks or wood or concrete or *something* that has structure. And the AI text isn't providing that.
