TF CARD GAME
(working title)
This semi-online deck builder is a game anyone could use to spice up their TF related RPs with anyone~
Face off and inflict transformative status effects on yourself and your opponent with the aim of reducing their health to zero by any means!
By semi-online I mean it plays with a Command base system where at the end of your turn your handed a string of characters to copy and send to your opponent, the idea being its sent along with your rp response.
Current Content and Future Plans
As of right now the game only contains:
A deck builder to create your transformative selection
A How to Play and tutorial!
A small singleplayer against a CPU
And a multiplayer
Future plans for the game include:
Art Notice!!
Just about all of the art used for the cards are temporary and not mine. While credit for the art is displayed on the cards, the art will only be there for the alpha and beta portions of this game's development. As development continues I want to slowly replace the art in the game with assets made for it instead of other peoples art.
If your art appears in the game (no matter what version) and would like it removed please let me know!!!
Feel Free to give me any feedback!
The Discord linked bellow I plan to have as a hub for people who want to play the game's multiplayer as well as plan rps
0.04.1 Patch
Edit: it was not this issue still persists
0.05 A Very Very Small Update
Update Alpha 0.06
__New Features__
- A singleplayer mode has been added where you face off against an CPU opponent. opponent can only pick between two decks for now but plans to expand this singleplayer mode are underway
- A tutorial has been added to give a more in depth explanation of how to play the game
- all health and card stats relating to damage and defense have been doubled to allow for easier calculation
- Body parts now cannot hold 2 cards of the same type and color, this is to allow for cheep cards like mana tanks to not be used to remove the effects of much more expensive cards
__Balance Changes__
- Bouncy Boost now does 10 damage
__Fixes and Minor Changes__
- Card effects now have fitting icons
- Dangerous effects also now have fitting icons
- you can now view these effects by instead clicking on them instead of waiting for a tooltip
- UI has been shifted for readability
- The message you now copy/paste in a multiplayer match has been changed to allow for easier readability
- A bug where defense is not correctly applied has been fixed
- A bug where growth spurt stacks has been fixed
PATCH ALPHA 0.06.2
__Visual Changes__
- The card Size Press has been changed to Size Scrunch
- The card art for Size Scrunch has been changed. New art is by turtitan(TyrtleArt)
- Card Frame has been altered also made by TyrtleArt
- Card Layout has been changed to fit with the new card frame
- A highlight for the deck has been added
__Gameplay Changes__
- Tutorial now has the sell mana button disabled at certain draw phases to prevent any softlock
- though the ability to softlock is likely still possible by playing the wrong cards or selling too much mana
- Sell mana has been changed where it is disabled when there are no more cards to be pulled from the deck or when you have one mana left.
- - this was done to prevent any excessive card drawing
- - soon this will apply to having to having limited cards in the player's hand.
__Bug Fixes and potential new bugs__
- Added a correction function for when you paste an input from another player. itll now fix any extraneous spaces or specific small changes.
- Changed the format for cards so there was a good bit of code rewriting to fit it, ive ironed out most bugs for it but there may still be some more i haven't caught yet
- Fixed some damage calculation errors
HOTFIX
- just fixed a big that was in multiplayer
Fellow Godot developer!
We need more actual games. Kudos to that. I like the direction even if I don't identify with or want furry content.
Currently, as of 0.04.1, there isn't much hand holding or explanation of the game. You sorta have to click around and hope to see what to do next in the worst way. A little more polish on what is clickable or vague instructions on what to do would go a LONG way. Just a goal maybe?
Clicking end turn has a prompt to copy an array... that's unintuitive to say the least.
Otherwise, good art. Not exceptionally complicated to pick up. Great concept. Fantastic to see more Godot content. I look forward to updates.
