Set in a modern fantasy world, Secret Island is a Visal Novel that puts you in the shoes of a powerful sorcerer and battle-hardened mercenary. After being caught in a war you never wanted to be a part of, you fought just for the chance to get revenge on some people on the other side, just to be betrayed as you got your revenge. Shot and left at sea, you found yourself on an unknown island, saved by a group of intriguing women, not all of them human. Strangely, you've never heard of this place before.
As you settle into life on the island, you quickly realize something is amiss. People can't leave, despite hearing messages from the outside world. Mysterious magic seals protect various parts of the island. People don’t want to talk about other people living on the island. You are filled with questions about who else is living on the island, about who made the magic seals, what dangers lurk around, and why you are there. Both you and your newfound companions harbor secrets.
Explore the island. Discover the lore of this world. Meet new people, bring them to live with you, and delve into romantic relationships with them.
A bit of a slow-to-medium burn. Really enjoying the story and can't wait to see it completed.
This is a very long, but very good, VN that is well worth a look. The MC is a shape shifter who finds himself stranded as the only man amongst a number of women. So we have seduction and sex.
There is lots of back story / background lore, and the NPC characters are not at all two dimensional. The artwork is pretty decent and plentiful.
One downside is that the size of the download is intimidating. A little dip into one of the image folders revealed it to be full of 1920x1080 .pngs, each at least half a meg in size. I am unfamiliar with Ren'Py but surely it can use jpgs?
To me, it seems to be a slower paced game/VN than most of the others on the site are. There are some slight issues with the English wording/grammar, but nothing too bad. I think the artwork is very nicely done in what appears to a hand drawn, simplistic kind of style, but it may not be to everyones tastes. Story is decent so far, again at a slower pace than most of the games/VN, but actually kind of enjoyable to me. Nice work, hope it continues to be updated. Will follow for sure.
