Road to Alivir

You don't know when, how, or why, but you've found yourself in a mysterious new world with nothing but the clothes on your back. You must get to the city of Alivir if you ever want to get home.

Every form you can take has exclusive content centered around what you are. Characters may interact with you differently, and you may interact with the world in an entirely unique way depending on your species or gender.

This game is still in an unfinished state, and I do have lots of plans for the future.

 Feedback and criticism is greatly appreciated.

  • New Werewolf Playable Ending, with a unique variation depending on whether you succumb or get dragged back

Act 3 Patreon Content

  • New Oceanview Diner Locale in the Docks
  • New Luxury Residences Locale in Downtown
  • Trophy Wife TF that uses both locations. Get paid lots of money, but risk losing yourself to the whims of a noble.

 

v0.32 - 

  • New character in the Elven Garden and associated ending.
  • New Goblin Ending for Cats. Rather sparse right now, may come back at a later time to touch it up.
  • More save slots (previous saves are still compatible!)

Patron Content

  • Quickstart Menu now has Reindeer and Slime options for Act 3. Currently just cosmetic.

v0.31 - 

Numerous bugfixes and grammar corrections such as:

  • Many, many typos fixed throughout all 3 Acts. If you see any more, please do not hesitate to reach out in the Bugsss chat!!!

  • Drinks at the tavern now cost gold. No more freebies.

  • Fixed a dead end when trying to achieve the Ghostly Maid ending

  • Submitting as a Bimbo Cat to the Goblins no longer gives a dead end but still lacks content. Will add ending in next update.

  • Unrelated dialogue and options will no longer show when at the Sinful Corral with Alex

  • Barred players from going to the fertility clinic while swapped. It's not even your body!!

New Content

  • New Draconic Slave Playable Ending. Learn about the powers and behaviors of dragons while doing your best to serve your beloved Master.

  • A new mysterious patron at the bar will make themself known if you decide to indulge in some drinks.

Act 3 Patreon Content

  • New location in the Red Light District: Cynthia's Desires. Currently items don't do anything, but functionality is planned for future updates.

 

v0.30 - 

  • Fixed an issue with former Werewolves still being ostracized from the Village after being cured in some instances
  • First Playable Ending in the Cattle Pasture. Succumb to any of the female routes to be a dumb, milky cow for as long as you want.

Act 3 Patreon Content

  • New Bodyswap Encounter in the Docks District (33% chance to trigger upon entering, will be tweaked in later releases to be much lower) with variations depending on your gender.
  • Following the Encounter, a new Bodyswap item is available to obtain that allows swapping with Companions (current) and others (planned)
  • Introduces a way to cure Alex, ending their quest and granting a lump sum of gold.
  • Softened the warnings surrounding Act 3

I also want to mention that Road to Alivir has finally surpassed over 100k words!

 

v0.29 - 

  • Several endings now have signifiers that flag them as potentially having Playable Endings at a future time. Any ending with "You never want to leave this place or upset its owner" or equivalent is a candidate.

Act 3 Patreon Content

  • Entering Act 3 no longer spontaneously removes your pregnancy if you have one.
  • New Location: Red Light District, which holds the Sinful Corral, a cow focused locale
  • First companion introduced, obtained through the Werewolf introduction
  • First companion ending at a new location within the Sinful Corral

 

v0.28 -

  • Divinity library entry rewritten
  • Introduce the Trans variable when refusing the blue potion at the Wizard's house, currently only in use to prevent masculinizing yourself but will be included in other endings
  • More opportunities to become pregnant (no use outside of Act 3 content)

Act 3 Patreon Content

  • Downtown now includes a location dedicated to pregnancy related content, including a new Neutral Ending
  • The Werewolf Bimbo intro Bad Ending is now complete
  • Instead of sending you back to previous passages, Act 3 now has an actual Restart

 

v0.27 - Many more Save/Load points throughout the story, including along the Northern Road, the Ominous Manor, and the Village itself.

The number of Save slots has risen to 3, however previous saves will sadly no longer be compatible.

The Blacksmith now offers you an easy way to make money by chopping wood, making gold obtainable in any form.

The Library now includes an entry on the Gods.

Numerous variable and typo fixes.

Patreon Version Includes:

  • Act 3 is no longer locked behind Werewolves and is now accessible fluidly at the end of the Frostlands.

  • The Werewolf Finale is finished for now. I will return and add companion variations once the system is implemented.

  • All 4 city districts now feel just a little more polished and not as rough as they did before.

  • The Blind Man in the Slums now has unique dialogue for most species.

v0.26.1 - New Succubus outcome for the Goblin Camp

For Patrons, Act 3 is now more visible to those who have had trouble finding it in the Quickstart Menu. Additionally, the Finale is now available (heavy story spoilers) at the Castle location. It's in a very basic state and currently only has one variation.

 

v0.26 - Massive QoL fixes and tweaks, including but not limited to:

  • Save/Load points are now present throughout the Northern Road, including a Restart button at the "End of Content" blocker.

  • The Harpy and Polar Bear no longer steal imaginary supplies, and the Polar Bear encounter has been made easier.

  • You can now buy a weapon and armor from the Blacksmith if you have the money.

  • Patreon version now starts with an obscene amount of gold. Will likely make this toggleable in the future.

For the Patreon version, Act 3 is now available through the Quickstart Menu. Currently only the Werewolf intro is available (unfinished), and the Act itself is nowhere near complete, but I want to have a more hands-on development process and discuss with the community about what they'd like to see incorporated. It's a big city, and I want it to feel alive outside of just necessary quests.

Writing this after the release of v0.25

Right now this game appears to only be available online.

The game does have choices, but it's driving towards a specific destination (literally). Those choices can walk you into a bad (good?) end right from the very beginning, but there are other choices that produce transformations that will actually benefit you down the road (pun intended) - IF you choose carefully.

You can have a couple of blended transformations - bimbo cow, bimbo cat, bimbo human for examples. I dfon't know if others are possible at this stage. There are chances to reverse transformations as well.

The UI is clean and basic, but it doesn't really need much of a UI. Your character's status - name, gender, transformed form - is displayed at the bottom of location choice lists. The character's text will change accordingly to fit your transformations. There is a back button to reverse choices, but you can only save progression for the first two segments of the journey - once you're on the long road, you're stuck with it.

Overall, the game stays on topic well. There is a grind element when you're finally on the road, and that one has actually been an annoying grind but it might be I made a bad choice somewhere. I haven't found any dead ends or placeholder content yet.

I like it because it is clean, a quick and well done transformation game where choices do matter, even with the small amount of content to date. Consider it a story with all the boring fluff bits in between the action removed.

If I had any suggestions for the author, it would be to go with a sidebar UI with character details, perhaps portraits, and the stats for the long hike when that's started. Adding in numbers for the choices per page could be useful. Lastly, allowing for multiple saves, and adding in large warnings before the long hike to save before you leave.

This one is going on my watch list, although the play time right now is limited, this one has potential for those of us who like quick and dirty, yet plausible, transformations that we may regret down the line.
