Devious World
by Skooma

For most people, reality is a pretty firm concept. It's a solid thing shared by everyone else, and a room painted blue will always be blue no matter which doorway you enter it through or who else is in the room with you or who walked through first, it won't suddenly be red because you waited an hour before you went in.

And then for some people reality is a little different. Reality's more like a bunch of dominos made out of play-dough, being reshaped (largely unintentionally) every time it's touched, and changing all the events that come after, knocking over entirely different dominos in the process. Or... something. You know what, there's not really a good way to describe the way reality works for these poor suckers. Suffice to say, because you waited an hour, the room is not only no longer blue, the walls are covered in tentacles and now want to molest you. There, how's that?

Become one of these weirdos and watch as reality bends around you, the mundane becoming strange, the strange fantastic, and the fantastic becomes lewd. Okay, that's a lie, everything is lewd.

----

A growing CYOA game with no single cohesive plot, merely an endless world of options to be built on until the author's brain inevitably melts. Content ranges from vanilla sex to mildly fantastic mind control to the blatantly unrealistic and unexplained magical and scifi events.

Though releases are hosted on Patreon, all full build releases are freely available. Only weekly incremental builds are restricted.

Pick your own, there's plenty of them and they're growing more numerous all the time. So you're a runaway teenage boy, huh? Well, where are you going to go now that you've run away? Okay, great, but now where to from there? Oh, you're going to touch the glowing crystal, huh? Surprise! Now you're a crystalline alien shemale who reproduces via molesting girls!*

*Crystalline alien shemale who reproduces via molesting girls has not yet been implemented (and may not ever be), but would not be the weirdest thing in the game if it was

Numerous. Just a sampling:

Eric, a fifteen-year-old runaway boy. His current most expansive plotline is a visit to Worldland, a theme park with a very strange side laying just underneath the glitz and glamor.

Layla, a stereotypical mean highschool girl and alpha bitch. Her current main storyline involves switching schools... to a magical boarding school where she'll face either siding with the dark side to rebuild her previous control over other students, or reevaluating her life and siding with the protectors of the status quo.

Jace, a twenty-something monster hunter. Werewolves, vampires, and chupacabras, oh my.

Irene, a scientist in her early forties. What has science done? What hasn't science done?!

And plenty of others, with a still-growing list.

I absolutely love this game. While a lot of routes do end earlier than you would like, I've been playing since I believe version sixteen? And routes get updated and receive focus in slightly odd ways. . . The game is fun.

That said. The biggest thing with the TFGames version is that it's not updated, and I don't think it ever will be. In order to get the most updated version of the game, you need to go to the creator's patreon and download it from there, which you can find by Googling 'DeviousSkooma Patreon'.

The writing is fairly solid, and there are a lot of words. If you're looking for something quick and easy, this is probably that though, because those words are split up among hundreds of branching paths. So, just look at a few paths, call it for the day, and come back later.

I can not recomend this game.

Not because its bad, but because its a nightmare to actually get to the content.

Almost every choice i pick leads to an almost immediate dead end.

the ones that do progress for me die right as they are about to get good.

Just incredibly frustrating

Excellent writing and a nice blend of content. It's one of the better pieces of writing on the site. Too bad about the incomplete state. If you can't tolerate being left hanging or dead-ends then skip, but what's here is really good.

Major missed opportunity not using uncensored GPT-3 last year to cowrite the endings to the unfinished paths.

Cannot get into it. The insane amount of dead ends takes the fun out of things for me.

I want to love this game. The writing is excellent and well-paced. The only thing that ruins this for me, is the dead ends. Oh God are there so many dead ends. And I get that, with a game that branches out so much there are going to be dead ends, but for a game that has been in development for 6 years, its a little ridiculous. My suggestion to the writer is this; I get that you can sometimes get stuck with a story, and not know where to take it, which might be why there are so many unfinished paths. I’m sure is you were to ask, plenty of people would have some ideas on how to finish certain paths, however, the way the game is now, I don’t feel like I can enjoy the stories, as its more than likely I’ll run into a dead end. I thoroughly enjoyed every word of content, which is why it’s disappointing to hit a dead-end in the middle of a good story. So, do I recommend you play this game?. Absolutely. As I said When you really get going, it’s fantastic. I do recommend keeping a notepad of your favorite routes, so you know when they are added to. Overall, 7/10
