Note: This game will no longer receive gameplay updates, and the version number instead represents new content added in the form of characters.
Welcome to Transformania Time(TM)! Today we have two eager contestents competing against each other for a hefty cash prize! What's the catch? Well, let me tell you this: this experience CHANGES you! I can guarantee that neither of our contestants will step out this door the same person that they stepped in as! And I don't mean in some kind of metaphysical or emotional way like other game shows. What do I mean? Well, it won't take you long to find out, I can guarantee you that! Neither can I say how either will be when they leave--it's different for absolutely everyone! So... let the games BEGIN!!!!!
Compete against other contestants to see who can postpone their own slow transformations the longest while the loser of each round transforms dynamically, bit by bit. This game comes with a number of community-written characters, and the character creator tool can be downloaded here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/mallhb6tlz8jah3/Character_Creator_By_Judoo.zip/file
Here is a list of all 98 characters in this game, with their authors, number of stages, and their transformation. Characters are split into Players and Opponents. Characters new to this update are in bold.

October 22nd, 2023: A Link and the Past
Added Samantha Brody, Peter Grier, Cecilia Sharpe, Nelson Simmons, and Christina Keen. All but Cecilia Sharpe were already in the game, but not included in the changelog. Also, added a link to Transformania Time!'s official Discord.
March 14th, 2023: Better Late Than Never?
Added Frank Irvin and Ralphie Frye, and fixed issues with certain pronouns not changing. This update was done in January, but I'm only now updating this changelog.
November 10th, 2022: Old Friends, New Blood
Added Brother Benedict, Hank Butters, and Trevor Morris.
September 7th, 2022: 1+6=A Lot
Seven new characters, this time! One from me, six from thriller54321.
June 27, 2022: 1.5 Characters
Added Stanley Simms and William Pembridge.
November 5, 2021: One from Me, Five from Thee
Six new characters have been added, which means we get a version update!
I've also fixed a tag issue on Saturn Grier, and fixed some of the issues on Carrie McCarthy, including an extra stage.
August 30, 2021: Two and a half Characters
Added Trent Warner and Lindsey Webster, updated Johnny Toogood.
July 26, 2021: A Randy Rebranding!
An update nearly a year in the making! I've got three big changes in this current build.
First, probably the most important addition: new content in the form of new characters! I've been slowly (very slowly...) adding characters without updating the version, as seen by the previous entries in this changelog. But here are all the new characters for this new version (more info about them can be found in the Characters tab):
There's also loads of characters that have been 'reformatted', with typos fixed and some interesting font choices...
Secondly, I've added a new mechanic that I was a bit nervous about at first, but have since come around to it. Pressing F1 (the debug key) and then F4 will randomly choose a winner for the round. If you don't want to go through the minigames and just want to read the transformations, this will hopefully be very helpful! That said, it is not the intended way to play, since you're skipping all the minigames. If you're having trouble with them, give this mechanic a try!
Finally, the new name. Since this Transformania Time and the MMO Transformania Time often get confused, since they share the same name, I've decided to change this one. It's no longer "Transformania Time! (SP)", it's now "The Transformania Time Gameshow"! Leave it to me to force name changes into everything, eh?
That's all the new additions this update. I hope you enjoy all the new characters. Let the games begin!!
Dec. 5, 2020: New Character and Newish Fixes
Added Malcolm Montalvo, updated faulty characters.
Oct. 25, 2020: New Character, New Revisions, New Way to Play
Added Fae McKay. Reformatted Buster Matthews, Dexter Feiselberg, Murphy Suder, Spencer Hawthorne, Stella Sutherford III, and Tiffany Keen. I've also added a new 'mode' of playing: pressing F4 in the debug menu will skip the minigames and apply two stages to either you or your opponent. This is an unintended way to play this game.
Sept. 20, 2020: New Character and New Old Characters
Added Saturn Grier. Reformattted Buck Bicorn and Chase Gramen; mostly typo fixes, but there's an interesting bit of flair for Buck... Also attempted to fix the author links for all the characters. They should all go to authors' TFGS account, save for my FA link. If you want your author link changed, please message me.
Sept. 11, 2020: Bugfix
Fixed online version; the game should no longer freeze after rounds. Also removed some duplicate characters.
Sept. 11, 2020: 12 character update
Yoshielder here, and this is my first update! There's been a lot of new characters added in the seven years this game has been active, but I'll only include characters new to this current content update, which includes 12 characters. While the game will continue to update whenever new characters are released, I will only update this IGDB entry once there is a sufficient amount of characters to count towards a 'content update', maybe 6-10, so to not flood the homepage with new updates. More info on each character can be found in the Characters tab.
I feel like, despite the interesting premise, the gameplay itself isn't too great.
The gameplay is way too difficult, even on easy mode, the minigames are based almost exclusively on luck, which simply isn't fair or fun. Like, in some cases, it's physically impossible to win. Which makes it significantly less enjoyable. If this game was updated with fair difficulty, more minigames, or different modes, I'm sure I'd enjoy it more.
This game is packed full of variety. There are dozens upon dozens of characters, and each character is like their own little short story. Each character comes with tags so you can easily find characters you'd like to play as or against. There's even a character creator that lets you design your own character from the ground up.
The worst part of the game is probably the gameplay. It has a number of issues.
The first is that it's buggy. I have played the game both on my smartphone and my PC and I ran into different bugs that made me lose minigames with no chance of winning on both.
Secondly, the minigames aren't very fun. They aren't awful, but I was only ever excited to see the next bit of the story, never to play the actual games.
Third, you have to play a LOT of minigames. If a character has 75 transformation stages on the default speed it will take 38 minigames to fully transform them. Some characters have even more stages than that. And if you have a close game, you can double that number. You can't save and load your progress either, you have to do all that in one shot. You can at least up the speed in the options menu, but only by so much.
Fourth, the minigames are LONG. Some of them only last a few seconds and feel appropriately "mini", but others regularly go on for a minute or two minutes, often because a bug makes it really hard to win.
I do think that even if all of these problems are off-putting to you, you should still play the game. It has a debug mode (F1, then F4) that lets you skip the minigames and just read the transformations. The game isn't as fun that way, but it's a lot less frustrating, so if nothing else you can resort to that.
I'm very happy I gave this game another chance. I played it when it first came out (has it really almost been ten years? Jeez) and it has come a long way since then.
Wish I could play but I get an error message that says my IP address is banned.
Really sad to see that this game won't get any technical updates because this is the exact type of game that I want to see. This game has a lot of bugs, like not being able to click the target because its hitbox is not centered or the paddle moving to the other side and back the first time you use it. It's also pretty frustrating because it feels like selecting the difficulty has little impact on your opponent and that it is your opponent's stats that dictate how hard it will actually be.
Still it is very enjoyable and I highly recommend it. But again, disappointing to see that there will only be character additions and not fixes or improvements to the base of the game.
Even on easy you'll get insanely close to losing, or you even lose sometimes, even when you're doing very good, yet other minigames, like pong, you'll win when trying to lose, even on higher difficulties.
So a feature I'm requesting, is instead of only being able to randomly select a winner, to give us a button to decide who wins or loses a round.
