Do it for the band Man!

The game is about a a young guy who makes a deal to achieve his dreams of being a musician, but gets a lot more than he bargained for.  You'll manage your daily life as you struggle to make it as a musician in the big city. But be careful as various elements attempt to steer you off the path of your dreams

This game is still very early in development so there are a good bit of placeholder elements, bugs, typos, and incomplete features.  This is a rather ambitious project I'm undertaking so I ask that you be patient as develoment happens.

.36

Hotfix for the alarm clock sleep bug.

.35 Changelog

***OLD SAVES WILL NOT WORK AND WILL LIKELY BREAK YOUR GAME***

This update mostly focuses a lot on cleaning up annoyances and making the world feel a tad more "alive."  I would have liked to expand the main story but I just haven't had time lately.

This release has some very incomplete features. Especially the random dating system and barista jobs.  Much is placeholder outside the coffee shop date.  These will be a lot more feleshed out in the weeks to come.

-Alarm Clock Function added along with the boatload of changes to support it.
-You can now nap in your bedroom. (novel concept...right?)
-New stores added to the mall. New stuff too.
-Initial release of NPC dating system added. This is somewhat unfinished.
- Gender transformation now based off of power rather than corruption.
-Adjustments and new events have been added to existing jobs to give more chances to use your influence power and further your transformation...if you chose to.
-Keeping your apartment clean got a whole lot easier.
-Pay for working should finally be more normalized so that you make money at a decent rate regardless of RNG elements.
-Early and unfinsihed phone system added. You'll find all the old settings and stuff inside. It's pretty rough right now but I'll get around to making it prettier later on. For now it's perfectly functional. The left menu bar will auto update itself.
-Cleaned up and made inventory window a lot better and prettier. You can hover over the boxes to find out what each item does. (Let me know if this isn't working in your browser, only tested on chromium.
-Thereapist is now open in Manhattan offering services that will allow players to lower corruption and increase happiness. And maybe increaase your power?
-If your lust starts getting too high, you may start masturbating in your apartment. And it's possible your roomates could catch you in the act.
-Improvements to apartment bathroom that should help reduce a lot of clicking.
-Framework for Barista job added.
-Some placeholder-ish random pickup dating system added with events. (Not finished)
-Lots of other undocumented stuff...lost track of some changes when I took a long needed break from game dev.

Not so much a walkthrough but some tips.

If you're having trouble keeping your happiness up, try relaxing in the park, exercising, visiting the Live House, or smoking. Also working a high stress job like the waitress one too often every day is a sure way to make Claire sad very quickly. (Alcohol will also increase happiness next version)

If you like to explore try to avoid doing it at night, and you should keep a can of pepper spray handy.  It is the big city after all.

If you find it tedious combing your hair and doing your makeup every morning, feel free to auto-apply it from the settings menu.

Leaving the Live House totally wasted can have the unfortunate side effect of attracting unwanted attention.

.36

Hotfix for sleep bug where the alarm clock being enabled would sometimes cause the days not to move to the next.

Changelog v0.2

Fixes/Changes

  • Lots of bug fixes all around, honestly too many to count.
  • Task list added.  This will get more sophisticated in the future.
  • Content goes up to just before the second audition now.
  • Lots of placeholders in queens now have text.
  • More clothing items added.
  • Tatoos and piercings is a bit more fleshed out.
  • Suicide game overs diabled by default. You can enable them in the settings.

As usual with games this early in development your old saves won't work correctly.

Please dont take the Negative Reviews too seriously.  they must of Woke up on the Wrong side of the Bed lol.  sure this game is not Perfect, but what game is for 100% of the people?. i am sure there is a lot more people who like this game then don't like it.  i still hold out hope that you continue this game =. and we can find a way to turn the other 2 guys into girls  and make it a Chick Band :)  i don't mind the grinding at all.  i really do love this concept and is one of my top 3 games that i look for an update every single day.  I love your style!!! ;)

The prolog takes time to set up the main character, describing how they are not large, or muscular and have a feminine voice.

We get a plausible rationale for the MC dressing as a girl, and then the possibility of continuing that charade.

But then, just as we've been shown the promise of a good "no magical nonsense" story, with a character who has to make a genuine transition (of some sort) and a whole host of possibilities of how that might go... a dumb instant magical transformation occurs, everything goes a bit "succubus contract" and what was best about this story was just thrown out of the window.

Then once the game gets started, we're faced with the worst parts of the whole "girl life" genre, down to and including counting the uses of your blandly generic shampoo bottle.

No.

Just ... no.

A game needs to do a lot to overcome a terrible game cliche like that, and it didn't do anywhere near enough - the meandering writing of the prolog wasn't enough to overcome the obvious choice of exhausted cliches. Some games can get away with it, but they have more spark, or better visuals, or they are old enough to have inspired the cliches. This is not those one of those games.

Reaching the convenience store was enough to turn me off this almost completely after the awful reversal.

I'd heard some good things about this game, but I don't see them borne out in starting to play it.

Overall, a real pity that this didn't go for a realistic, slow-burner transformation. As a premise, it's a great idea; pity there was no real attempt to follow through on that.

Also a pity that it appears to replicate some of the worst elements of Girl Life/Life Choices/Maria Wardrobe Freedom etc.

I continued to play, despite misgivings, and wasn't really rewarded. There's a pared down version of Life Choices, where none of the economics makes any sense and where there is not much that can happen. Almost everywhere you go and everything you do, you bump straight into a "placeholder" or a "not yet implemented". I ground through it for a good while in search of any content but there wasn't much to be had.

So that irritating shampoo counting, and other stuff, is not even important - the economy is such that you'll never worry about consumables. Literally, never. Also, the rent payment is bugged and can fire twice.

I guess some people will like this game. They will enjoy a magical transformation, or the (probably) succubus elements, or counting their shampoo uses, but it's not for me. It's also so obviously missing any content besides what is very easy to access early on. There's not a lot of point playing it at this point. It might become worth another look if it gets developed further, otherwise there are likely better ways to spend your time.

Honestly, I was expecting more content from such a classic game.

After the intro, the game feels very grindy, but maybe that's just because a lot of planned content has not been created yet.

I'll be curious to play the final version! :)
