A New Job (Daydreamer Port)

This is a port of Darkwing\'s A New Job, for the Daydreamer engine.

A young man down on his luck decides to check out a help wanted ad in the newspaper. To his surprise, he gets the job, only to discover that it demands far more than he expected, and the contract was signed in blood.

This port is not currently undergoing further development, and is unlikely to be resumed by me in the future. Up to date with the original game\'s content as of the last time this was published, but anything released since is not likely to be included anytime soon.

Just like most Rags or Daydreamer games, this game is more like a maze where you look things up in endless corridors, and it is harder when it is mostly text basis. The outside of the manor is divided into 5~6 maps... when you only need to find the manor door and open it. BTW it is on the west.

There is little to no game description at the beginning of the game. Zero background information. Once you are inside the manor, you are given a contract with little details. It is until you open the wardrobe that you know it is about a maid job. You are told to make clothing alternation, which you can find help somewhere in the house, meaning more text map exploration.

The images so far I saw are limited to head portraits, some of them as medieval painting and others as Japanese anime.

Given that the game is discontinued, I would say skip it.

For those of you who are not familiar with Daydreamer engine, it is similar to the Rags engine, except that is built with Java, and totally free the last time I check. (Note: Rags Editor is not free, unless you use the pre-version 1 edition.) There are quite some games to go with it, so you might as well give Daydreamer a try.
