(Sirenski) If We Combine Our Strength

It’s been years since the legendary S-Rank adventurer Sol has gone missing after setting out on a quest to rescue the princess from the Dread King. His protégé, Acamar, is one of the very few who know the truth of the circumstances surrounding his mysterious disappearance. Now a powerful hero in his own right, he sets on a quest to restore his idol’s former glory. But shortly after the two are reunited, things take a turn for the worse…

Overview

This is a straightforwardly linear and story-focused RPG that takes about two hours to complete.

Background

This game was translated by kmalloc from Japanese with explicit permission by the original author, Sirenski. The original Japanese title is “Futari no Chikara o Awasereba” (二人の力を合わせれば).

This game has some bonus content only available to Sirenski’s Pixiv FANBOX subscribers… however, said content is a separate download and therefore not available in English.

Mere words cannot express the power contained within such an individual as Goopy. However, let me approximate: she helped typeset the title screen and playtested the game. A round of applause, please.

Please also refer to README-ja.txt for information about the various third-party resources used in this game.

Themes/Content Warnings

There is no explicit imagery, but there are light descriptions of sexual encounters. Male-to-female, age regression (adult to pubescent), humiliation, role-reversal, corruption, exploration of identity. The story itself is quite dark.

The prologue in particular contains depictions of humiliation due to incontinence brought about by fear and the aforementioned age regression. These definitely aren’t to my personal tastes, but they’re limited to that portion. I’m glad I stuck with the game to the end for the truly interesting story that followed.

Disambiguation

I don't usually reply to reviews in the description here, since opinions are subjective. However, I would like to address a certain review left here lamenting supposed "cut explicit imagery" that has been "paywalled". This supposed content exists entirely within the hasty imagination of said reviewer. I have played through many of Sirenski's games and the only one I encountered with explicit H scenes is Tower of Trails, though I may have missed some. Pixiv FANBOX content is typically just short extra scenarios with more or less the same vibe as the base game. In other words, if you are a more "visual" person so to speak, this isn't the game for you.

This confusion may stem from a misinterpretation of the term "yuri", which is often interpreted in the English speaking community as denoting explicit pornographic content between women. The more accurate definition (used correctly by other reviewers of this game) is a general depiction of sapphic romance.

First and foremost this is not a game with, quote, "no explicit imagery, but there are light descriptions of sexual encounters". No, this is a game where ALL of explicit imagery and scenes which were planned and included have been REMOVED (and paywalled). The difference is huge, like between reading a whole book without any pictures from the begining and watching a movie - in which the video is suddenly turned off in many scenes. Anyway if you're a connoisseur of cute anime girls then look at the captured screens from the game above: congratulations, you've seen it all, there won't be anything more (unless you count a few times reminding you that you're missing them of course)

Second - the story of the game is absolutely linear. With only one ending.  Yeah, of course, you can die in the battle and maybe miss one treasure box in the maze or two but that's all.

Third - some reviewers are trying to classify this title as yuri. Let me say this: if you belive in yuri with the almighty power of c*ck above all in the end then go ahead. In MY opinion, if you add to the mix points I've specified above, this title is a staple of anti-yuri genre with the typical wrapped bar of chocolate behind the glass in store syndrome. And no, you won't ever even smell it, not to mention consuming it.

The positive points? Encounter battles are easy to optimize and not to waste too much time for them.

It's still a waste of time, nevertheless.

This game honestly blew me away. It seems similar to the dev's other work at first but then it totally becomes a character driven yuri with a VERY serious plot. I think the less said the better, and going in blind is absolutely the best way to experience this so if you're reading this you're already fucking up, but absolutely give this game a shot. It WILL surprise you.

The Ending made me go 😢

That double triple plot twist. Hit me too hard. Overall an experience that should be experienced. But be warned whilst the game has a cathartic ending, it's not the one you want.

Solid translation work as usual, with no major grammar errors or mispellings (that I can find at least)

Game has a linear story line (I checked the code) and take around ~2 hrs to complete, so don't be fooled by seeing "TRUE END" since there's only 1 ending anyway.

A little weaker than the other Sirenski game in my opinion, while combat is not on a brain-dead level, it doesn't take more than room temp IQ to figure out how to win all encounters. As long as you go in the game expecting a VN rather than a RPGMaker game then you won't be disappointed.

Pretty fun game, relatively short. Not terribly difficult as long as you read the abilities and check for new skills when they appear, as without doing so a story battle would be unwinnable.

Much like the other reviewer I got the true ending, I assume the other ending(s) were from not talking to/rescuing unnecessary npcs, but I certainly don't know. Cute story, worth a quick playthrough, won't take more than 1-2h~.
